Besides the fight with Silva, I think there is a feeling in GSP's camp (from what I read) that more money can be made in possible future fights with the likes of Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping at 185 instead of uhm.. Jon Fitch and Dong Hyun Kim..
I really think GSP can take Anderson down for 5 rds, granted.. Silva will blame the loss immediately afterwards on an injury.

I like how he says it like Silva has never done that before.

Silva's weakness is wrestling, no doubt! So I don't know. I would like to see it just to put it to rest.

Why is Anderson Silva the 3rd highest paid guy on here?
The dude owns about every record there is as far as most consecutive wins, most title defenses etc...
Jon Jones made 140k and still needed directions to Las Vegas.

It's all about what you can get in the contracts
Also, often times the way the contracts are structured cause anamolies.
Example: vitor was with affliction before a high profile bout with rich Franklin in 2009. The UFC knows vitor sells, and perhaps wanted to try to rebuild rich Franklin, so to lure him they gave him a short (perhaps even one fight) and Rich contract.
He beats rich, and now he has the UFC by the balls because he knows they need challengers to Anderson, and so he is able to ask for serious $$$ to fight him
At the same time, Anderson has a long term deal worth flat rates, with a PPV revenue clause.
Every major champ has them: brock, chuck, couture, tito, GSP, Anderson. They pay thle fighter something like $1 for every PPV buy to 500,000 buys, and 1.50 for everything over.
With these cards typically getting around 700,000 buys, Anderson will have pulled around $800,000 on that clause, plus his immediate flat $200,000.
So a million for this fight but he wot see thr big check until the final PPV numbers get in, and so they aren't part of the NSAC payroll numbers

I just read this. I had heard this before also.
I'm thinking they did a million PPV

damn, $1 - $1.50 is a lot per ppv. wonder how many guys in the ufc have this clause and if it changes at all if two are on the same card.

He blamed his performance against Sonnen on a broken rib.. don't know why he even said anything at all, he won.. so I assumed his people have quite the list for when he actually loses..

Less than 10. I know of only GSP, Silva, Randy, Brock, Chuck and Tito. I'm
Not even sure BJ did and I don't think matt Hughes did
And I dont kno why it would change just because another big money guy was on the card

Sounds like Rashad will drop down to 185 if Bones Jones wins the title. He wrestled at 174 in college, fwiw.
