I love this man. Just praying the fight doesn't stay on the feet for too long.

There were rumors earlier this week that Islam might step in to fight RDA after his opponent, Rafael Fiziev, tested positive earlier this week. They confirmed yesterday that Renato Moicano will fight RDA on 4 days notice.
Note - Tony Ferguson was also contacted the last 2 weeks as a potential replacement for both Islam & RDA fights and was ready to go, but it didn't happen.

I haven't heard that but Islam got no medical suspension after his fight so he could technically fight

Islam & RDA were going back and forth on twitter. It could have happened, but it seems like RDA chose to go with Moicano.

Debating on buying this card....

Really depends on how good you think the Covington-Masvidal fight will be. The first 3 fights could be really good, but no one I'm really dying to see.

Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell
Solid matchmaking conjures veteran super striker Barboza vs. red-hot undefeated submission specialist Mitchell. Barboza is 2-2 at featherweight following a 1-5 stretch at his long-term division of lightweight. Mitchell is a perfect 5-0 since linking up with the UFC and even scored a rare twister submission against Matt Sayles. This is a true crossroads fight. Do not sleep on Barboza.
The thumping striker holds the UFC record for Fight of the Night Awards (tied with Nate Diaz and Frankie Edgar) and has the third most knockdowns in the promotion's history. Mitchell is a serious contender worth watching, but it will take an impressive and decisive victory over Barboza to identify if Mitchell is truly prepared to tangle with the featherweight elite.

I think the last 3 fights on the main card will be good but the rest...blah

So, it was actually the opposite. Dana white said yesterday that he went to bed thinking RDA/Islam was a done deal & in the morning he found out Islam said no.

Islam's next bout will be a title shot so he has nothing to gain.
It would have been if he stepped in and beat RDA. Beating Bobby Green who stepped in on 10 days notice doesn't replace a fight with Dariush. Dana confirmed since Islam isn't gonna fight RDA, the next step is to get Dariush-Makhachev remade. Once he gets through Dariush, it gets "interesting".

Dana laying the groundwork for an immediate Connor title fight while making Islam fight Dariush before a title shot.

His shtick is getting old. He's turning into a shitty WWE wrestler, it just looks so forced at this point.

They have it to hype it up somehow since it’s a lackluster main event. Non title fight, masvidal in the down part of his career, Covington great fighter but no knockout power.
