Cruz retired also. I always enjoyed watching him fight. His style was so unique.

Yep. I remember being pumped when he beat Dillashaw. Then I remember watching him somehow lose to Garbrandt at uncle earls back when the bars used to always play the big fights

There is currently some other bum champ but i dont even remember his name. He is way worse than DDP.

Probably thinking of Belal, but even he stepped up his game during his last title defense.

Refs need to watch the Kongo-Pat Barry fight before events. Give guys just a few seconds to see if they are going to fight back or not. I'm sure the vast majority of MMA fighters would be willing to take a few shots to have the chance to fight back and not take an embarrassing loss. If they are truly out, they won't be able to defend the shots and won't get mad at the ref for an early stoppage.

When Strickland lost to Cannonier in December 2022, I thought he was just going to be a journeyman type fighter. I thought he was too one dimensional, just marching forward no matter what.

Then he beat Izzy, embarrassed him and became champ.

The first fight between him and Dricus was so close--usually they say that the edge goes to the champion. If it hadn't been for that clash of heads that sliced Sean open, he might have gotten the decision.

I think Dricus has probably improved, probably has more confidence, and I think he'll probably win tonight. His performance against Izzy was very strong--was taking a lot of damage, looked exhausted, but mustered up the strength at the end to drop Izzy and get the choke.

Definitely referring to Belal. No way anyone could think he is more exciting than DDP.

You know you got fricked up when a body kick causes your torso to bleed externally.

I'd say these two wound up de-thawing rather quickly.

Basketball on ESPN right now before they get to the UFC event. I'm ready for them to ban basketball. Last few minutes of these games takes an hour.
