How did LSU A&M do tonight? Did Texas-Austin win? How about Tennessee-Knoxville? Is UNC-Chapel Hill still celebrating their March Madness victory?

Just wanted to add that Tulane is the original University of Louisiana, they are technically the Tulane University of Louisiana.

Tulane gave permission for us to use the University of Louisiana moniker. You're pretty wrong about this.

I saw it. Did you see 3rd base coach run to the pitcher's mound while the play was still technically live?

No, I'm not wrong. I did say they were the original UofL, and are technically the Tulane University of Louisiana. Not trying to argue, just was stating these things. And if you want to say I'm wrong then you should realize you're wrong about LSU's name.

So because they have Louisiana in their name, they're the University of Louisiana? Well shite, then we're the University of Louisiana, as is Southeastern, ULM, LSU..

Tulane was a public university (University of Louisiana) that privatized in 1884 to become the Tulane University of Louisiana. I am in no way claiming that any school with both the words "Louisiana" and "University" in their names are the "University of Louisiana."

LSU is Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College. So, when trying to pull that "name game" It should be LSU and A&M College. Ha ha.

Edit: Also, if Tulane had to give the current UL's permission to use the name, that must tell you something about the origins of the name.

But back to baseball, what has been the main reason for ULL's current win streak? Something finally come together for the team? Will it continue this weekend against ULM?

Timely hitting. At the beginning of the year we couldn't hit anything with runners on base. 8 of our 12 losses have come by 2 runs or less. At the beginning of the year we only had 1 or 2 players hitting over .300, we now have 6 over .300 and one at .295.

Our relief pitching has been outstanding as well. I attribute that to moving Zach Osborne to the bullpen, he's untouchable when he comes in relief.

Well, that's good. Seems they are getting hot at the nearly the right time. Think they'll make a regional?

Well, we're 4-1 against RPI top 50 teams and we have 12 games left against RPI top 100 teams including 1 against LSU (9) and 1 against Rice (7).

We also have a weekend series at Eastern Carolina (35) so if we win the majority of our games left then I say yes. We'll probably need to win our conference tourny to get in though.

I see. Well, I do always like seeing Louisiana teams do well, though I do hope LSU beats ULL this next go round. Ha ha.

Don't worry, it's only a midweek game. It doesn't matter.

Louisiana always some good baseball teams in the state, especially this year.

LSU, UL, Southeastern, Southern, and Tulane are doing pretty good this year.

Ha ha, yeah, I forgot that those games only matter to ULL and Tulane and such when playing LSU. Chances are neither team plays ALL of their regular guys, but nothing like a good in-state rivalry.

Southern

Southern usually is the best in the SWAC, seems like that is so by a large margin this season.

Southeastern

They have a pretty big series this weekend with Texas State, whom with they are currently tied in Conference.

Nope...all those are the state's flagship schools that you listed...last I've seen ULL is not the flagship school of the state...

Shows how much you know... UNC-Chapel Hill is NOT the flagship of the state of NC. Also, Cal-Berkley is not the Flagship and they go by Cal in athletics. There are more if you would like me to go on, but some of you will never just let it be,

I'm sure Hawkins was staring down Richard after he got hit for no other reason other then the fact that the two played with each other for 2 years and are good friends.

Henderson Hands, You sound like you make it to all the cajun games. (I played there from 2004-2007 so we may know each other)
