Difference is they don't use it as an excuse for why they're not successful and they don't go around blaming Germans for their non-successes.

I use the word often when talking with one of my best friends who happens to be black. I use in terms of comedy, and seriousness and he never has a problem with it. He uses derogatory terms for white people and I'm ok with it. It's just words, if it offends you don't say it and don't associate with those who do say it.
You can't control what other people do. LeSean McCoy doesn't have to be friends with Cooper but he is far from a respectful individual. I have a son from a previous relationship who I have been to court for many times for more and more visitation from his dumb arse mother but I've always paid his child support and taken care of him when I have him. We need more Michael Vicks in this situation and less LeSean McCoys.
As far the those saying they can't forget the years of oppression well then I don't know what to tell you. No one alive today was or owned a slave, and all those who lived through reconstruction are also gone. The vast majority of those who achieved so much during the civil rights era are old and will be gone within the next couple of decades. The Chinese, Irish, even the Arabic communities within the US have found success so there is little excuse but inwards. Native Americans are owed something in my opinion and that's about it. There is going to be no reparations so it might be time to move forward.
