He literally quit trying after college.

He was the offensive rookie of the year in the NFL when he first started.

Why? Do you believe Young is more responsible now than then. He obviously doesn't have the ability, or desire, to be responsible for his junk.

I am trying to figure out how in the hell he won this. He was terrible his rookie year.

Vince Young rookie year:

TD= 12
Int= 13
Yards= 2,199
Comp %= 51.5
QBR= 59.6

Started 13 games, also had 552 yards rushing and 7TDs
Went 8-5 as a starter
Basically won it because he was Vince Young

Among better stats looking back at it:
Marques Colston 70 receptions 1038 yards and 8 TDs
Maurice Jones Drew 941 yard 13 TDs (only started 1 game and just 166 carries) 436 yards receiving and 2 TDs

His career with the Titans wasn't bad imo, but I remember they had their best season when old arse Kerry Collins was playing in relief of him

He also rushed for 6.7 ypc, ran for 7 TDs and broke the rookie QB rushing record which had stood for 35+ years. He made a lot of big plays and after Tennessee started off 0-5 (Young became the starter in like week 4), they finished 8-8 and almost made the playoffs. He led multiple 14-point 4th quarter comebacks too. He made big plays in big moments for his team and won the vote easily.

but 50 grand for the Manning award? That's outrageous I don't even know if the Sugerbowl still gives that thing out

Which may make it even more valuable.

Part of me is like screw it. The lady bought the unit fair and square and hit the jackpot.

But a lot of those items are so personal. Vince is clearly not right in the head right now. It might be until Vince is 50 years old before he gets his life on track and grows up. I would approach VY’s parents, assuming they are trustworthy, and ask for a refund for cost only and give them all of the memorabilia.

He won it because his teams defense was stellar and kept them in/won games and people still
Judged qb’s by win-loss record as opposed to stats

That plus Pac Man Jones and the big ex Vol Defensive lineman. All three were psycho but the had good seasons before their demons took complete control.

Never mind, I’m reading where she tried to reach out to him.

The stuff must not be that important to him.

They had a good team that one year with Chris Johnson and Kerry Collins.
