What if Butch Davis had stayed at Miami?

Do they fall into the depths of irrelevancy like they did for the past 20 years up until now?
Larry Coker won one title and almost won two
So if he had stayed, surely they win two, maybe even three in a row
What would the landscape of college football have looked like in that scenario?

Davis was always jumping to the NFL

Davis really had it going at the U.
I was so surprised when he took the job with the frickin' Browns. It was a dead end and I'm surprised he took that road.
He could have won 2-3 more NCs at the U and become a HOF coach.
He then could have taken over in Dallas.
I guess that all sounds so simple, but I bet he regrets leaving the U so early.

Different era. The guaranteed salary with the Browns was far more stable than anything Miami could offer. Also, the Browns were barely starting back up. They weren't looked at as a dumpster fire back then as they are now.

And he got them to playoffs in his second season. Their 4th year back. There was hope and optimism.
