I love baseball but game length can really suck at times. I remember seeing that the Yankees beat the Red Sox 2-1, but it took about 3 and a half hours, and I think there was a total of 10-12 base runners. Game pace needs to improve, IMO

Best Live Game experience of ANY other sport

while it is exponentially better live than on television I find this statement false.

Awesome argument.

I'm going to leave now before my brain explodes.

It's not a "argument". I'm simply telling you I have no interest in any teams at all. I shouldn't have said teams "that don't matter" more so teams I don't care about.

If I'm not mistaken FIFA was the number 1 selling game in 2010 in the US.

Not sure this has been pointed out (haven't read the whole thread), but the last three seasons are the most highly-attended seasons in MLB history, and ticket prices are higher than ever, naturally.

Not sure why you think it's dying. It's more popular than ever.

There's a lot of shitty teams in the NBA. Hell all of the NFC West in football was shitty. AFC West is usually shitty. We can go on.

are you really arguing that football is more complex than baseball?

fricking Vince Young can play QB in the NFL. anyone off the streets is smart enough to learn an NFL playbook

I used to go to the minor league games all the time and then later UK games. They're a lot of fun, but hockey doesn't translate well to TV IMO.

My son loves playing it, but barely watches it. He may watch LSU in the World Series, but nothing else. When I ask him if he wants to go to baseball games he never wants to. He never passes up LSU football or Saints games. I would be willing to take him to LSU baseball or Astros games even though it's not my cup of tea. He loves watching football, but says baseball is boring to watch. I can't say I disagree.

They lost me during the strikes in the 80's & 90's. Had season tickets for 25 yrs. I think it was '92 when they didn't have playoffs, or world series, it went thru the winter and they didn't have opening day the next season. Haven't been back or watched a game since. The 'roid thing, and Sosa's corked bat don't help, esp. when they're breaking old records doing it.

People think it's dying because it can't stand up with football in the fall.

Nothing can stand up with football in the fall. If Selig made a few adjustments to the schedule, baseball would be even better off than it is now.
