I agree, but I don't think they are going to willingly do that. that will be an invitation to open up a huge can of worms.
i'm waiting for the day that walt williams is dragged thru the mud.

all i know is when i see this in the top part of the article:

By Charles Robinson and Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports

quote:
In addition to working on Seastrunk’s national letter of intent, Lyles said he secured a study course at Sylvan Learning Center in 2009 for the then high school junior in an effort to help him with schoolwork and standardized testing. Lyles said Jeff Wood, the father of then University of Texas quarterback recruit Connor Wood, paid the $4,000-plus bill. Connor and Seastrunk were teammates on a 7-on-7 squad coached by Lyles. Jeff Wood declined comment when reached by Yahoo! Sports. Lyles said he personally asked Wood to help and Wood did so “out of the goodness of his heart.” He said he doesn’t believe Wood was seeking to influence Seastrunk’s recruiting and said, to his knowledge, neither Oregon nor Texas knew of the tutoring.
I don't think for a second Mack or anyone at Texas knew about this but now that we do know, the kid needs to go.
JMO - this type of thing probably happens a lot when kids are floating around trying to qualify.
It is an impermissible benefit and someone will pay when this type of story breaks... but it doesn't inspire anger in me like stories of piles of cash being given to recruits

He was asked to rate the Tressel story on a scale of 1-10 scale, and gave it an 8. Mr. Robinson rated the story to be broken this month as a 6-7, and gave the late-summer story a 10-rating, without hesitation.
Okay, Ohio State is 8...Oregon is 6/7... Who is the 10???
Auburn? LSU? USC? Texas? It's gotta be Auburn IMO, the only thing that could rank more than Ohio State would be the defending champions IMO.

Texas is friggin' lucky Seastrunk didn't go to Texas or then this would be a huge deal. Still, you have to do the right thing. Connor Wood has to go.

Lyles is finally coming clean and he said himself that no one at Texas knew. Also, Seastrunk didn't go to Texas so nothing was gained.
However, if someone finds email/proof that Mack did know, I will want him fired ASAP.

Lyles said the issue became problematic when Seastrunk’s mother said she wanted him to attend LSU.

from what I can gather, Mack & co are clear of Lyles' issues, but there's alot of chatter that they are bracing for impact. Growing rumor that Lyles has pointed the eyes of the NCAA onto Texas for other things- and this is beyond the radio allegations the other day about paying high school coaches.
I have it on good authority they're a little nervous around Belmont Hall this week

Bama?
I think the only teams that would bring a 10 currently are Texas and Bama. Bama because their coach is Saban. Texas because they are Texas.
Everyone has known about the potential Auburn problems.

Multiple times, Lyles had claimed that he knows for a fact that Texas pays high school coaches to steer kids to Texas. Now, he finally bares his soul to Yahoo Sports, admits multiple times that he fricked up and did things wrong, and he doesn't say a single word about Texas paying coaches. There is also no talk of Texas trying to ruin him because he is black, like he said before. Obviously, he knows that no one was buying his Burnt Orange conspiracy theory. The only thing people at Texas are thinking about is Connor Wood's dad.

I think Auburn would be a 10 too given the mediastorm that has surrounded that situation and the fact that they are defending champions/#1 draft pick/etc

Interesting tweets from the guy who caused the uproar about Texas & lyles:
quote:
LanceZierlein Lance Zierlein To horn fans, I was wrong. Knew something big was coming from yahoo but expected lyles to trash one of the coaches on staff but he didn't.

LanceZierlein Lance Zierlein I know the two parties are not fans of each others and I expected a shot to be fired by Lyles at Horns. Looks like he stayed w/ facts

I have already just assumed Auburn is guilty so it isn't a 10 to me.
It would blow me away if something happened with Bama and Texas. Also it would be crazy since they are so sucked off by the media.

While the basic premise of his tweets were right (big Yahoo-Lyles story coming out), everything else he had wrong ... the story really didn't implicate any schools other than Oregon.
Mentions of Texas, LSU, Cal, TexA&M, but nothing too serious or alarming about any of those schools.
I'm just on the edge of my seat to find out what the 10 story is that's supposed to be coming out later this summer
