Dude, Kansas got fricking screwed being in Florida's bracket. I think Wiggins can still run a train, but that was going to be my final

i dont think we got screwed, really, but those have been my two favorites all year long as well.

i also have the creighton-wichita state final four match up, but i picked the shockers. when that game goes down, we can bet on that shite.

I just meant it sucks having probably the best one seed in your region.

Yeah, I will bet on that game when it hopefully happens. I picked Creighton if it was not known.

I've been moving stuff around, trying to avoid chalky brackets.

Syracuse
UNC
Baylor
Louisville

I was on Sparty for a second then ESPN piled on. Had to ditch them.

I spoke to soon. It has happened multiple times though, 08, 07, 05, 99 for sure. I don't have the brackets before '98 so who knows. But there is almost always a one seed in the championship, 13, 12, 10, 09, 08, 07, 05, 02, 01, 00, and 99.

You have Baylor in the Final Four? Absolutely fricking not. Baylor ain't even gonna win their first game. No shot.

I've been amazed how quickly everyone has coalesced around certain picks. I'd say about 50% of people are picking these respective teams to win their region:

Florida
Mich St
Zona
Louisville

For a tourney that is so "wide open", it's amazing how if you look at user pick percentages, each of those teams is hovering near 50%. So people aren't treating this as wide open. It doesn't mean people are wrong, but there is definitely consensus favorites.

I'm a firm believer in separation in your brackets. Make a different choice than the crowd and hope you're right. Last year, it killed me, as Louisville was the consensus choice. So it doesn't always work or anything. But I zig once I see where people are zagging. My picks:

Kansas
Sparty (I can't quit Izzo)
Wisconsin
Wichita St

Kansas over WSU in the finals. I think people are scared off by the injury, but that Wiggins guy is pretty good in his own right. And it would be the most Kansas thing ever to go on a run right when everyone agrees you're gonna lose.

If UVA can get by Memphis/GW in the second round, they will make the final four. They also will play Harvard in the Sweet 16.

For some reason, the second round matchup for UVA scares me more than MSU. MSU may beat us if we matchup, but it will be the Memphis/GW game that proves whether UVA has the toughness/tournament prowess to advance deep.

Well there are 2 #4 seeds in the F4..

Except that Kansas’s 29.1% defensive rebounding rate is 71st in the country and Joel Embiid ranks 12th in the nation in defensive rebounding rate.. They could lose second round. And also, Gonzaga had a bigger Margin of victory and scored more points per game with a better strength of schedule than Wichita State this year... Louisville and Duke have better chance to make the final four according to Nate Silver's predictive model which was 98% correct last year.

Just making you think a little

i have this also. i did and usually do exactly what you said. if your picks are florida, msu, zona, ville, you're just boring as shite. you fell into the espn and expert picks bullshite. you read all the narratives and believed them, and then talked yourself into them being risky picks since louisville and michigan state are 4 seeds. pretty "bracket hipster" of me, but it's more fun to be unique in these things.

kansas seems to be at their best in the tournament when people are not onto them. 2008, they were the best team in the country, but everyone loved the other 1 seeds. 2012, they had no expectations whatsoever and almost pulled it off. i feel pretty similar to that this year, so it could be fun.

link? i just can't find it and would love to look at shite like that. every rebounding stat i can find has kansas as a pretty elite rebounding team

In my bracket I had Louisville and Florida, I stand firm by both of those picks. I also picked zona, But I'm not 100% sold. Withcita could very easily in that final 4. They definitely have the capability, but they have been on such a roll all year I just see them falling just short in the elite 8, another pick which is not popular is kentucky. They are a team that I feel could easily be knocked out in the 1st round or make it to the final 4, you never know. Also Im not on the Michigan st. bandwagon at all. I see it now, but they are going to be the 1 team that fricks up everyones brackets by going out in either the round of 32 or sweet 16. Just watch

If Embiid was healthy, I would have them going all the way.
