Clearly the NFL doesn't need as much stone cold evidence as prosecutors.
You're right. They don't.

The next round of CBA drama on Goodell's power is going to be awesome drama.
I doubt it. Most players don't care and will not be willing to give up a part of the revenue share to "buy back" a fair system.

Because the Saints have stopped bitching about Bountygate... oh wait. I'm sure the Cowboys aren't going to hold a grudge either.
Not only did they get screwed, they still won a Super Bowl.
The saints lost their coach for an entire season. Tom Brady got a 4 week vacation and the team went 3-1 without him.

We also lost another first round pick, but yeah simultaneously bitching about Patriots fans bitching and then playing the victim is a great argument... keep at it

Do the majority of owners like it? I'm sure Kraft, Jones, and Benson for sure don't.

Plus other assistants were suspended, several players were suspended and names drug through the mud, and they lost several HIGH draft picks. The Saints were essentially given a death penalty with very little proof... evidence that when Tagliabue looked at he concluded that the player suspensions should be reversed.
The Saints got fricked a lot harder than the Pats. Its not even a question.

Let's see them actually prove something for once, because they utterly failed in both Deflate and Bountygate.
If he doesnt fight this tooth and nail, thats all you need to know

NFLPA gonna sue the shite out of the league. 6 games for never being actually charged with a damn thing
You'd think the educated folks on Tiger Droppings would understand that criminal charges and private company policies are not one and the same. The burden of proof in a criminal setting is far higher than what is needed even in a civil court case, much less what a company needs to suspend you.

I'd trade a 4 game Drew Brees suspension and a 1st round draft pick for a Superbowl any day of the week

I want to hear Roger Goodell explain what Ezekiel Elliott did that's six times as bad as what Josh Brown did.
This sums up my thoughts about the entire situation. Release your evidence.

So did the Saints, along with a few other draft picks.

You're assuming Benson is still alive by the next CBA. Kraft and Jerry apparently don't have the power we thought they did, and 30 other owners might not have an issue with it as it allowed them to knock Kraft and Jones down a peg.

That depends. This is going to court so the burden will be there. But it doesn't relate to the statute, but the collective bargaining agreement.
Either way, that letter could be used by Elliot in a defamation case against the NFL if he so chose.

He publicly accused people of trading money based on bodily injuries and ruined multiple careers doing it, and had basically zero evidence backing it up other than Gregg Williams saying something stupid in a lockerroom.

Big difference between this:
And this:
For one, the Facebook post is there. No denying it. Anyone can accuse someone of a crime and there be no proof of it.
Now supposedly there is proof of some kind of wrong doing with Zeke, but there's enough to suspend the guy but not enough to charge him with something?
So, he just wasn't violent enough to be criminally chargee, but he was violent enough to be suspended?
I just can't quite wrap my head around that. What qualifies as enough to be suspended but not enough to be criminally charged? Did he just yell at her in a mean way? Send her ugly texts?

I've changed my mind on the suspension, but I would to see how they got to 6. That seems a little excessive but idk. They are probably expecting to knock it down to 4 from the appeal

My question is why she didn't sue him in civil court.

I don't know how anyone could form any opinion on this until the NFL releases their evidence.
