shite, they are all great.

THIS! They really are. I do think that the scenes between Tywin and Arya are some of the most intense scenes I've ever seen on TV. Even though I've read the books and knew that didn't happen, I was holding my breath savoring their time together. Her tension vs his candidness was beautifully played and acted out. I would love to know how many takes they did of those to perfect them. The acting was superb.

And Joffery does a great job of making me hate him.

I agree that the casting on this show has been phenomenal. All good answers so far except maybe Littlefinger who might be one of the weakest portrayals IMO. I also want to mention Theon and Brienne. Brienne has been spot on, especially with Jaime. I wasn't a huge fan of Alfie Allen in season 1 but he's definitely made great strides in season 2 and has been great so far in season 3 in his limited time.

What?! Gillen is awesome. I think the writing for LF is off, not the acting

I like the guy, he was great in The Wire. For some reason I just don't care that much for him in the series. Maybe you are right and I should blame the writing.

That little troll grin he does for his insults is money

I really wish they'd write better for him though. Hopefully as his role expands, he'll get more scenes

Good to know. I thought he might die soon, but I guess he won't. Thanks for that.

And I agree. He's a great actor with the best speaking voice in the show. It really emphasizes his creepiness and the twisted rage he has bubbling beneath the surface.

Jaime is an awesome snob. Lena Headey was pretty good for the first 2 seasons, but she's gotten a little too melodramatic this season. The "as I recall, she never stole a necklace again" line seemed a bit too impressed with itself.

The Bastard might end up taking the prize, though. If you go back and watch the episodes from before we knew he was going to jerk Theon around. He looks so sweet and dutiful, and in this past episode, became a twisted little weirdo in 2 seconds. That facial expression when he tells them to put Theon on the cross again was perfect.

Agree 100%

Jaime

In terms of looks, he is literally perfect. Before the show, lots of artists did depictions based on his description in the books, and Nicolaj looks like all of them.

The bastard is great as well. I knew he'd be awesome

Then in my view of her character, she nailed it

In terms of her character being exposed (for lack of a better word) as being less intelligent and more petty than we earlier imagined her to be, it was a success.

It just seems like she's laying it on a little thick this season, but maybe it's intentional.

For me, it's Tywin. I get nervous everytime he is on screen. Intimidated even.

Good point. He does have an intimidating feel to him.

I really like Lena Headey's portrayal of Cersei as well.

As for the actors, I think the characters who stand out are Charles Dance and Peter Dinklage. Lena Headey, guy who plays Varys are good too. As for the 'kids', I really think Maisie Williams and Jack Gleason are excellent. I always hear about how once Jack gets out of Joffrey mode, he's the nicest person to work with and be around, and that he apologizes to people after he does the Joffrey scenes.

Nicolaj is great too, and I can't wait to see what his does with Jaime's role from here on out.

Alfie Allen has improved a lot too.

To be honest, I can't really think of any terrible actors on this show.

The only one I really thought miscast was Mark Addy as King Robert. Now there obviously aren't that many 6'6 actors running around but the intimidating presence was really a big part of the character. The 7 kingdoms were held together by fear of Robert Baratheon's martial skills. Even old and fat and drinking himself to the grave, he should have been fiercer than Mark Addy.

There are so many acting performances that are just, plain, perfect.
Peter Dinkledge IS Tyrion Lannister. He plays the role just perfectly.
Littlefinger, Tywin, Joffrey, Jamie, Cersie, and Bronn, Ned all flawless performances and portrayals. Stannis is pretty great also, but I think his character in the show doesn't match who he is in the book. This makes him far more likable, but takes away from my ranking of his acting performance.

I agree. He seemed too jolly and jovial to ever be a fearsome warrior, like Santa Claus after his divorce, before he married Mrs. Clause and went gray.
