Yeah, I was not too pleased with his sloppiness at the park. The lawyers voice on the phone was very hesitant and he should have been able to tell something was up, but Mike still gave him his location.
Also, when the lawyer got caught at the bank, did they show the lady unlocking the boxes? It showed her being "different" when he dropped off the animal suckers or whatever he had, but I wanted to see how she acted in the vault. I do not recall seeing it.

Rather unusual, but I digress...

They didn't show it because it would have been a useless seen to see her unlock all the boxes again. Most safety deposit boxes work this way (I worked at a few banks). This shouldn't have a whole lot of meaning in the episode.

I never thought I'd find a show that topped The Wire but I think Breaking Bad just did it for me. I didn't even start watching the show until I crammed all four seasons from Netflix and online into about 2 weeks time earlier this year.

Looks like a nice duck hunting/fishing spot.
It's the Rio Grande which runs through Albuquerque and has a lot of park/natural area along the river.
Fack, I hate to see Mike die but I'll probably be more pissed if they find a weasel way for him to still be alive. Mike is simply a GREAT character.

Watch the video I posted. You will enjoy watching this. Mike was awesome, but took too many "half measures." He could've shot Walt when Walt wouldn't turn over the bag. He instead gets sucker punched by Walter.

Different topic but let me add that these two:
are starting to remind me of these two:
I think Walt may end up as Danny Dravot did for very similar reasons. The very beginning of this season hints at a similar fate. For any of you who have not seen "The Man Who Would Be King" - it's a damn great movie.

Pretty frickin cool that Mike totally had the jump on Walt at the end but chose to just die. He made a mistake in trusting Walt with the bag (gun), but was still same old stealthy Mike in his downfall.
If he wanted to, Walt would have one in his head, but he let him off the hook so he could just quietly die.

I don't get why Walt is so obsessed with keeping Jesse around. I know he needs the extra pair of hands but he obviously wants out. I think Walt will lash out at him again when approached about the money he is owed. Jesse says something really mean, so Walt tells him he poisoned the kid. Jesse hurts someone close to Walt, shite hits the fan.
Todd is acting waaaay suspicious IMO. When Walt tried to talk to him about pay, he gets all squirrely and insists on waiting a few weeks. Who the frick does this in real life, besides someone that is already getting paid by someone else? Am I the only one that thought it was super weird?
So, I think Todd is on someone else's payroll. There's my prediction.

And then there's all the meticulous note-taking. That would make me kinda nervous.

I won't outright discredit your theory as it is certainly possible, but I just don't think it really meshes with what we've seen of Todd. If he's working as an informant he's actively engaged in obstruction of justice and outright killed a kid. That wouldn't just get overlooked because he drops a dime on Walt & Company. We don't know much of Todd's background, but we know Mike thought he checked out. Maybe his prison "connections" actually stem from his father and the kid had a screwed up home life. Now he views Walt as a sort of father figure and he defers payment because he wants to impress Walt. He knows the business likely isn't going anywhere soon, so he feels comfortable putting aside one or two pay days until he achieves competence. Or maybe he plans to break off from Walt once he has the formula and method down to give him an even larger cut.
I suppose he could be an informant for a cartel or Walt's new business partners. I feel like Mike would have caught that, though.

i don't think hes an informant. i just think he's working for someone else.

Lydia? That seems a stretch. She'd need to have a connection with the pest control company to either hire Todd as a double agent or plant him there. She'd need to know Walt would be turned on to the pest control company, so that may in turn necessitate a connection to Saul. And I know it seems redundant to keep going back to this, but if Todd had just started working there I feel like Mike would have mentioned that as a potential weakness to a partnership with them. There are a whole lot of "ifs" there that we can't really ground in anything other than supposition.
Is there a precedent for a similar situation in the show? Vince is usually good about leaving pieces of evidence and not completely blind-siding us. He surprises us, but the surprises always kind of "make sense." Lydia and Todd would come from pretty far out in left field. IMO.

I agree. I think some people are just so used to Vince blowing our minds that they come up with ridiculous theories. Mike did a background check on Todd, I trust Mike, so I think Todd is legit.
I gave up on trying to predict the twists because the shite that Vince comes up with is impossible to predict. I just enjoy the ride.
Breaking Bad is definitely on par with The Wire imo as two of the best written television shows of all time.

that is actually the scariest scenario. in just one meeting to dig a whole and steal some methylamine, he feels so protective of them that he immediately kills the witness kid. This might be the trigger finger that brings the whole mess down. accidentally shooting hank for snooping, or even worse, lets say flynn follows walter to see why his dad can afford all this crap without working and todd shoots flynn for following them. both of these scenarios would absolutely cause skyler to turn, and for walter to have to skip town with fake aliases.

agree. mike continually talking about half measures, when its the half measures that end up being his downfall.
mike was also right that there are two kinds of heists. those that get away with them, and those that leave witnesses.

Also, in the episode I believe Saul said that the DEA had gotten Mike/Kaylee's money both times. The only way they didn't would be because the lawyer was only making routine deposits to Mike's guys in jail. The deposit to Mike's box was a one time thing, as evidence by the bank lady forgetting the box for Mike the first time and the lawyer telling her he had one more. But, being as the lawyer rolled on Mike, I'm fairly sure he told the DEA about that box for Kaylee too.
Just wanted to reiterate this, since some folks said they thought Kaylee got to keep the money and this was only said once. I think Kaylee's 18th birthday is gonna be pretty shitty.
