Jesse is all "Walt" has left. No family, no friends, nothing else. It has been very subtle, but the subtext has been Jesse is the son Walt always wanted, ie without the handicap. I could support and explain that, but it would take a LONG post.
I agree with this theory. I would also add that there's probably a part of Walt that misses teaching/mentoring, and Jesse has proven to be a capable apprentice as the seasons have progressed.
Speaking of, I don't know if anyone can confirm this, but a friend of mine told me the original plan was for Jesse to be killed in the latter part of the first season. However, the writer's strike caused the writer's to pause and see the great chemistry between Walt and Jesse.
At least something good came out of the strike...

Aaron Paul mentioned this in a podcast that listened to a while back. He said that Cranston screwed with him during season 3 filming, I think. Sat him down and told him what a pleasure it had been working with him and that he will be missed.

I have been thinking about this and I hope they don't do a movie either.
If they do a movie, how much of that movie would be spent laying down background info for people that never way he'd the series. Obviously they would want to market the movie to the most people so just picking up where the finale left off wouldn't really work too well. So like you said, the payoff of having a movie likely wouldn't be worth the wait and frustration caused by a cliff hanger finale. I hope they end it with the finale and what's done, is done.

Also I was hoping to find out what the deal was with Mike when he was a cop. Hank and Gomez alluded to something happening when they interviewed him but it was left at that. I doubt Vince ever goes into much detail on a lot of these things. It just isn't worth it from his perspective. Let the viewers imagination do a little work.

There won't be a movie. Before this season the show was averaging about a 0.9 rating. It's not really that popular.

Exactly. It has a hardcore following that is very small. Most people hear that the show is about cooking meth and are instantly turned off. So in order for a movie to be profitable for them they would have to make it and market it towards people that never watched the series, thus spending a shitload of screentime laying down background info and cheating those of us that have actually followed the show over its marvelous run.
I don't want to see BB The Movie anymore than I would want to see The Wire The Movie. Somethings are perfect just the way they are and don't need to be messed with.
That being said, I will miss BB soooooo much when its all over and I'm actually kinda glad they are stretching it out over next year.

Maybe AMC could do a made for tv prequel about Gus Fring's early days in Chile if they don't cover that next year.

Yeah, now a spinoff prequel about Gus might be interesting. Esp if it stretched to how he met up with Mike and we got to see some more Mike. Gus (I am too lazy to look up how to spell his real name) did a fantastic job. I would pull for him to get the Emmy but I'm fairly sure AP will top him.

So true, and it pisses me off. And when asked to describe the show to someone, it's hard for me to put the awesomeness into words.

I'm with y'all. No B&B movie.Make what's left great and let it play out.I was lucky enough to watch the 1st episode with Walt's ride along and was instantly hooked.
Gus was one of the greatest characters of all time.

Didn't he beat a wife abuser to death or something? I just always thought it was that.

Agree completely.
I do as well.

Hmmm maybe. I spent most of the first few seasons in a drug induced haze so its possible I have forgotten that. I plan to buy the entire series and watch it all over again, relatively sober, after its.completed.
Eta. And that sounds very plausible for Mike.
RIP Mike.

Yes, when talking to Walt about half measures. He said he let the guy off the first time, but it led to him killing his wife IIRC. Then, he beat the guy to death (full measure) and left Philly.

Good call. I think I remember that now.
Mystery solved.

Undoubtedly. Best television villain I've ever seen.

Just rewatched the scene. This is not correct. He never goes into any detail or alludes to it after the guy killed the girl.
