Went to Movie Tavern Citiplace a couple weeks ago.

It appeared the staff was trying, but service was extremely slow. And if you want alcohol there, get it from the bar first then go in.

Plus the prices are outrageous for what you get.

If you want to walk your arse off. They've taken away the front parking lot as an option (limited time allowed there, for shoppers and diners only). If the bottom of the parking garage is full you have to take an elevator, then walk around the block to get to the movie.

I'd rather go to AMC and park right on the side of the building and walk right in.

What if the popcorn was better, would you deal with walking the extra minute?

Crisp image with great contrast. Better recliners. The audio is amazing, especially if you're seeing the right movie. The bass will rattle your fillings, explosions shake your chair. Not just "loud" audio. Better audio.

Plus a gigantic arse screen. Easily the best way to see a movie

Cinemark. AMC is a fricking dumpster fire of a cinema that has no respect for their customers whatsoever and once proposed allowing talking and texting to attract teenagers. In Dallas, AMC charges $15 for a fricking Budlight, while I could get 4 of them for that price at the Alamo Drafthouse. Cinemark is a perfectly fine chain theater. Not the best, but it’s doable. I will never enter an AMC again unless I move somewhere and have no other choice.

EDIT: never been to the ones in BR, but it’s just the principle on how many times AMC has tried to screw the audience out of every last bit of money and enjoyment as they possibly can. Those red dots have to be the most annoying thing ever.

AMC lets me see 12 IMAX movies a month for $20 total. They repeatedly give me $5 credits on refreshments. Their Dolby theater is the best screen in BR. Not sure how AMC took your family and friends from you, but they’re not the Nazi regime that you’ve alluded to.

Celebrity on George Oneal.

Best movie experiences I’ve ever had in my 20 years in Baton Rouge.

Cinemark Perkins Rowe. Last time I went to the AMC at the mall it was gross.

I’m not going to drive all the way out to O’Neil or Gonzales to go to the movies, even though I’m sure they’re nicer.

Malco is your standard theater. Nothing special. I go there more often than the others because of how close it is to home. AMC is great for big movie events (Star wars, Marvel, ect.) but otherwise, nothing special. Cinemark is decent for indie movies or if you wanna grab a bite to eat before the movie. Movie tavern is great for movie night but it can be pricey. Celebrity theater is the bees knees to me. That place has improved alot and literally has something for everyone. Not to mention those seats are comfortable as shite. And I love that I can get a refill without bugging someone

Finally a theater I recognize from back in my day in this thread

But I preferred Siegen. Best place for Indy movies, and once all the stadium seating places popped up there were never crowds and was mostly real cinema buffs even when there did happen to be a busy screening.

Siegen filled the void after The Varsity closed as a theater. You could always count on Siegen having a good indie movie.

Y’all are picky as frick lol. I go to whichever one has the movie I want with the most convenient time, dosent really matter they’re all the same to me. However, I go during the day, have no desire to drink during a movie (all it does is make me have to get up to piss), and don’t get expensive arse concessions except the occasional drink so I guess I don’t have much to complain about except maybe amc by the mall not having recliner seats

Then you haven’t seen a movie in Dolby Cinema at amc. Granted there’s only one currently and only shows 1 specific movie per week
