Tone makes all the difference. You can't tell me that Favreau couldn't have made an amazing Green Lantern movie. Or that Gunn couldn't have made a great Legion of Super-Heroes movie. Joe Johnston making Blackhawk instead of Captain America, Russos making a Superman trilogy...

The problem wasn't the characters.
Tone obviously is the issue.

I watch superhero and action scifi (i.e. Star Wars) for fun entertainment. If I want a dark, heavy crime drama (what many seem to praise Nolan's films for), then I want more realism- I don't want an imaginary superhero in it.

I do like an aspect of functional realism, such as what you get with Iron Man. But I don't want shots showing an Antifa-style protest mob related to that character, which is something DC tried to place early on. Picketing signs, defacing of statues, etc... not in the mood for that in my "comic book" stories.

Marvel Films are not all built with the same quality control.

WB owns DC and has for some time. Disney is slowly getting some licensing back that was sold to keep Marvel afloat in the 90s.

That's why you can't really blanket it in FoX-Men Fantastic 4, Raimi, Ghost Rider, Blade, Daredevil, Elektra and Amazing. I liked Hugh's wolverine, but if MCU insists on X-Men making it in instead of being their own thing. Give us a 4'9" crazy Kavorka sniktbub.
