Man I am excited about this...so I have a question about the ending of Den Of Thieves. I'm old, slow, and things are starting to get by me in movies now. Did Donnie fool his own crew? And he had a backup crew in on the scheme?

That is the way they made it look. I think he had an escape plan to rid himself of both the cops and his crew.

Yeah he was playing them from the start. They show a few flashbacks I believe of him setting it up throughout. He was actually the one who came to their crew with the idea, so he was conning them from the jump
You can also see members of his crew hanging out with him and in the bar in the early scenes of the movie, like Max Hollaway is drinking at the bar in the beginning, and he is shown driving the garbage truck that had the real cash
The bar itself is right next to the place they robbed. The implication being that he had been planning it for months before even talking with the crew, he used them as cover and bait for the cops. And in the end they show him at a new bar in England that is next to a diamond depository, so he’s doing the same thing again

Yes, apparently part 2 will be about “Donnie” trying to rob the diamonds…

Eh, Merrimen and Big Nick was why the first one was well liked. Nobody cares about Donnie.

Big Nick was great. Butler really enjoyed playing that role.

No chance they make the sequel without butler.
They will find a way to get him on interpol or something to make him fit in that plot

Big Nick (Butler) is in the second one…why would anyone assume he wasn’t? There is no Den Of Thieves without Big Nick.
