I gave episode 1 a watch and actually enjoyed it. Young Masuka is spot on. Young Deb had a lot of the mannerisms down but almost seems like a caricature of her older self but pleasantly surprised and think it is actually going to be pretty decent and I had 0 hopes for this. Also was happy to get that beginning scene. We are still alive baby!
Also Dempsey is way over the top. Sarah Michelle Gellar still fine as ever. Wonder if she has a dark passenger and Dexter ends up killing her. Probably learns from her on how to hide things along the way.

I am loving this show. I haven't read the comments, because I don't want negative comments to point out something I may not like.

You should. It's kind of fun to see younger versions of them all. I wish so bad there was a way they could do a young Doakes, but it wouldn't really align with the original Dexter.
They nailed the Dexter casting IMO. That was most important. He has him down. Masuka always cracks me up. I didn't care for the Deb casting initially, but I realize she's pretty tough to recreate. I am cool with her now. It doesn't bother me.
The guy playing Angel Batista looks so much like him. It's incredible.
I liked New Blood, but this is way more fun than New Blood. Like I have already rewatched the episodes for Orignal Sin multple times

I still never finished Breaking Bad because of how silly it got. It took me many years to go back and finally finish Dexter. I'd say go for it though, the first 5 seasons are a pretty wild ride, even though the flaws are starting to show by that point. It was an amazing show for its time though.

E4 is probably the best one yet. Won’t spoil, but will say it’s good that they’re not writing everyone as a perfect person.

I haven't started watching this yet, but I'm guessing the reason there is no younger Doakes is because he would have been in the military during this timeframe?

So far I've watched the first two episodes and am enjoying it. Some of the original cast has been pretty well replicated with new actors but for some reason, the actor playing Deb just doesn't do Deb as well as the original. Maybe she'll grow on me.
