Liked the show early on. Si is pretty funny but congrats to them for making a ton of cash.

i watched parts of the first two seasons.
had some laughs but it got old. seem like good people who cashed in on their 15 minutes without using sex and vulgarity to get there.
Attention whores? sure.
i'll always appreciate the old guy saying being gay is icky (not agreeing with him) and then the family telling the world GFY when they wanted to remove him. DD and CFA are proof that all it takes to shut up SJW is to tell them "no" and go about your day.

I watched it here and there. It was cool to see a show based on the type people I know and grew up with. I think the family always knew it would be short lived. I remember when Phil got in trouble for his comments. He said something to the affect of "What is the shelf life of this thing? 3 to 5 year tops?"

Yeah, but if folks came to you throwing cash at you because they think your family business would make a good show what would you do? I'd love to think I would say no for ear of what it would do to my family but in the end I'm pretty sure I'd become an attention whore as well. Milk it for all it's worth and then walk away when it fades. Not a bad plan.

i think y'all are taking attention whores as too negative connotation from what i meant it as. i meant it exactly as you put it.
i applaud them and wish we had more wholesome people making TV like them.

Out of all the "reality" shows that are totally not scripted (sarcasm), Duck Dynasty was the best and had the most relatable people. Now that's not saying much. It seemed to be the only one where everyone didn't argue in every episode for drama; just rednecks being rednecks. It did get old really quick, however.
