Did the Darryl Cooper "Fear and Loathing in the new Jerusalem" change him that much?

Having listened to Fear and Loathing, he's exceptionally kind to both sides of that conflict and honest about where they suck.

After the second episode of Enemies: The German's War, I kinda want to take out communists even more.

Finally got to see it. A nice mix of Interstellar, The Martian and Arrival. I get the praise for the movie, well made, no question.

And I did like it, well enough. I wasn't blown away though. Like some of the other movies above better, but it's well within their ball park.

this is my take, although i will say i enjoy this more than Arrival.

That being said, I think Arrival is a wonderful, perfectly directed, shot, and acted spectacle that makes me miserable and I leave whenever my wife puts it on.

Overall Parks and Rec is a better show than the Office. The office had better highs but if you talk consistency and characters and overall story Parks and Rec edges it out IMO.

agreed. P&Rs valley is a 70 but it's peak is a 92. Office is 40 and 100.

Also, you like everybody in Parks and Rec. Hell even Jamm gets a happy ending.

Their profits and market value have soared under Cook. That’s the point of any company. Not sure what the next great idea will be. At some point it’s just incremental improvements. Jobs was good at innovation but terrible at business.

Apple is the second most profitable company in the world and he’s kept it that way.

He lost ground to NVIDIA but everybody did.

Most of the Fortune 500 companies are rounding errors to Apple.

And the show is very rewatchable too.

i will alternate between this and Parks and Rec if I can't find something I want to watch.

Emily Blunt was great in that flim, allowing Brolin and Del Toro to really showcase the range of their characters.

what I really like about her role and acting is that she is highly qualified, talented, and good at her job, but quickly realizes that this is a man's world and it's a world where her moral compass cannot finish the job that must be done.

she's not weak, but she's weaker than the people that she's fighting or fighting with her.

Sheridan can have some stinkers out there, but this and Wind River will sit with you for a good long while.

re: I finally saw the movie PARASITE,

i haven't seen it, not on purpose or being opposed to foreign films, just never got to it for some reason.

2019 as a whole was one of the best years for movies in quite a long time.

I'll offer up 2012 as an amazing year as well, not all world beaters:

Place Beyond the Pines
Master
Django Unchained
Silver Lingings Playbook
Avengers
Moonrise Kingdom (one of the weaker WA movies)
End of Watch
Life of Pi
Looper (what lead to a good Knives Out)
Dark Knight Rises
Lincoln
Wreck it Ralph
Skyfall
Dredd
The Impossible
Brave
21 Jump Street
MiB3
Premium Rush
Amazing Spiderman
Hunger Games
John Carter (extremely underrated)
Gaetz' accusations were before he was in congress I thought?

and also I'm pretty sure that the chick lied and said she was of age.

I am no Gaetz defender.

Yes, until Michael leaves. Then skip to the last episode.

Spoiler alert dude

Nah, watch it all. Some of it isn't great obviously but there are still some good moments. Robert California has grown on me over the years.

i actually like most of the last season. but could or take or leave anything after Michael leaves. California was good for some offbeat scenes but that's about it.

More than Michael leaving, the overelevation of Andy to main character because of Hangover was the bigger flaw.
quote:

I watched the first episode because of this thread. They were not fricking around in powerball, men and women.

agreed with that. the male gladiators are pretty ruthless.

one guy got hellalucky on the tug of war with the flip.

i also would like to talk about Crush.

quote:

He was the triggered one by calling it "woke". But continue with your victim complex

It’s ok to call things woke. I’m not triggered, I continued watching, not even hate watching. Saying something is woke doesn’t mean I hate it or it’s evil. I actually tend to avoid calling things that.

It’s not like I called it Nazi propaganda or something.
quote:

Well, did you mention anything about his getting a J-O-B and taking that small responsibility on if he wants ad-free content????

He was joking, but…

My exact response was screenshotting both of their texts to me and sending to the family group thread and said “if both of you can’t live with ads till I re-enter my card, mom and I are happy to buy you AM/FM walkmans and experience the 80s”
quote:

Soo.. im down. Question, do they bring back the tennis ball shooting game

I think that is the final elimination. They are doing quarters and semis.

I was looking for that as well.
quote:

You must be really upset and the outsized minority representation in CFB, the NFL, and MLB.

I was asked what made it woke. I said that it has high overrepresentation of minorities.

Then I said I liked it.

You can point out that something is done for political purposes but still enjoy the product.
We watched a 40 minute Dude Perfect video this morning with the family and I kept hoping for an ad so I could go refill coffee but there wasn’t a single one.

I don’t mind ads on free content but it can get out of control.

I replaced my debit card last week and I got 2 texts from my sons within 15 minutes of each other that they wanted to know why our Spotify suddenly had ads.

The college kid said, and I quote “I can’t live like this.”
On the first episode every contestant was black or Hispanic. Second episode had 2 white women and another black and Hispanic guy.

On the men’s side:

35% of the country had 0% representation.

6% of the population had 75% representation.
quote:

Norm was one of the greats. He had a lot of issues but I do believe that he believed in Jesus based on some of his discussions with other people.

I know he wont be everybody’s favorite, but Michael Knowles (Catholic) from the Daily Wire said that they DM’d each other somewhat regularly and had discussions on faith and philosophy and Knowles believed that he was a Christian.

Out Cold
Other Guys
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
American Primeval (series but still good)
Wind River
Hostiles
News of the World
Hell or Highwater
1883 (meh)
1923
Madison (series)
Horizon:American Saga(ok)
Train Dreams

It’s absolutely awful, woke, and I’m fairly confident 50% AI.

But I am entertained. 90s nostalgia through the roof. Love it.

Crush to the moon.
