I actually don't hate the premise. Having the Cobra Kai creators involved gives me hope it will be entertaining.
Yeah, the premise doesn’t suck primae faceae. I just wish Richard Edson was actually cast in the original role. He’s character actor in a lot of the films I love, and I think it would be cool for him to finally get a chance to shine.

So I wanted to see a sequel that took place maybe 20 years later, making them nearly 40. Ferris has got a good life, but nothing spectacular. Solid job, but nothing interesting. Nice wife, and a couple of kids living in the suburbs, etc. Basically, his dad. He lost track of Cameron in their college years and obviously Sloane didn't last. Cameron shows back up in his life out of the blue looking to reconnect. But where Cameron allowed that one day to alter his life, and make him take chances and really live, Ferris got boring and old. The movie would be Cameron trying to get Ferris to remember what made him special, etc.
This could be good if they did it right. Maybe they have their 40th high school reunion, and they go from the perspective of Cameron being the main antagonist.

Alan Ruck is another “chance to shine” actor Im rooting for these days. He’s got Succession, but I’m hoping for continued success for him.

"Cameron" lives in Rye, NY and leads a pretty normal (for Rye) existence. He sounds like a pretty well adjusted guy.

Not saying he isn't, but many summers ago, I randomly saw Alan Ruck blackout drunk in a Chicago restaurant.
My dad taught with the restaurant owner's daughter, so my family stopped in for lunch one day. Ruck was at the bar by himself in a suit, with his hair all messed up and he was swaying in his stool. It couldn't have been any later than 1 pm.
