Sure. It's hard to replace Martin and Niles and several other key cast members. It's still watchable though.

The whole season was a chore for me to get through but I really enjoyed the finale. Frasier reverting to his younger self and scolding the child orchestra kids for being "sugar fueled rodents."
And damn, Peri Gilpin hasn't aged a bit.

I agree, the only episode I really laughed during was the blind date one. The other got some chuckles, but overall very meh.

The show already needs a reboot.
It was bad.
Keep Frasier, Freddy, David (the nephew), and Alan.
Drop everyone else.
Drop neuroticism by literally every character and replace it with situational humor.
Tell the actors to tone down their performances.
Give the show a little bit more melodrama. Maybe a love interest for one of the mains. Maybe that love interest hates another of the mains.
Stop with the over the top laugh track.
FIRE ALL OF THE WRITERS AND GET BETTER ONES.
Outside of that, the show is doomed.

I don’t think the show is doomed, simply because the popularity of the Frasier character and the talent of KG in the role.
I’m not sure that all the writers need to be fired either, but I would like to see some more influence of the Frasier creative team on them, and make it less HIMYM-ish.
You’re not the only person here who complains about the laugh track, for sure.
I think you’ve hit the head with every character being neurotic, and the need for it to be toned down. Of course, in the original, both Frazier and Niles were
often waaaaaaay over the top. Daphne was originally- her being psychic was toned down, though always having a story about “me grammy moon” or other family became more of a running gag. Same with Roz’s sex life.
The show certainly lacks a Martin - a straight man that keeps everyone else grounded. As I’ve said, it’s certainly not Freddy, who has turned out to be nearly as neurotic as Frasier…only in a blue collar profession.
As far as the other characters in the new show, I think Alan is obviously the breakout. Olivia, in my estimation is well
acted and has a lot of potential. David started off as terrible, but gradually seemed to improve as the season progressed. I’m not sure about Eve - are they setting her up to be Freddy’s eventual “love interest”? Fwiw, I like Moose and some of Freddy’s other buddies with the fire department.
Overall though, I don’t think the show is bad - it’s just “ok” when I expect it to be very good to great.
I’m gonna throw out a “wild” suggestion for season 2, and that is to steal a plot line from “Big Daddy” and give Freddy a 5-6 year old son who was conceived after a 1 night stand with a medical student at UCLA after a Red Sox - Dodgers World Series game in 2018 in LA. Maybe not have the mother dying, but instead was
just hesitant about Freddy “only” being a firefighter…having her values more align with Frasier’s. Thus create a little melodrama between Freddy who wants to raise the kid playing baseball and hockey, hunting and fishing, and Frasier (and the mom) who want to make him an “intellectual”. There’s also a little strife there over Frasier’s absence in Freddy’s childhood and prominence in his grandsons.
