Some of the best stuff is when he talks about Ermy. He said he called Lee to congratulate him on the popularity of his cable show Mail Call. when Modine says " i hear they made a doll that looks like you, and Ermy says It anit no doll it's an action figure dammit.

It is a great book. Full of pictures taken by Modine himself and full of stories.
Another story is they filmed the scene between him and the the "me so horny" hooker and Modine says she really was quite nasty and he had to do a scene with her where he was nude on his stomach and she was completely nude straddling him and he was terrified of getting AIDS -AIDS was still relatively new and no one was sure if you could get it from casual contact.
I think they only made about 50.000 copies of the book initially, They are numbered on the back. they may have made more without the metal jacket I got mine for Christmas 05

i have always preferred the basic training part of the movie better than the Vietnam part.
This same rule applies to the movie "Stripes".

I didn't find the drill seargent funny because:
1. He didn't do a great job of acting.
Probably already posted, but I'm too lazy to read the entire thread. R. Lee Ermey, the DI in the move was an actual Drill Instructor for the Marine Corps.
Next time yall watch the movie pay attention to his eyes. He NEVER blinks.

"You're so ugly, you could be a modern art masterpiece."
