The Wire... it amazes me that so many people still haven't seen it. One of the greatest shows ever.
Just finished watching all of the Wire. Never thought it would top Sopranos/Deadwood/Rome as my favorite HBO series, but it did. Not a dull season at all.

I'll be honest: I have never seen the Wire. i know its the same production and writing team which did Homicide, which is my favorite series ever made. So I think I would rank it #1 if I ever saw it.

My top three:

#1 Six Feet Under
#2 Mr. Show with Bob and David
#3 Oz (the last season did not happen, ok?)

What's more amazing to me, is how many people on this board think it's one of the greatest shows of all time (including me), yet it's ratings were never worth a damn. Either a lot of people couldn't relate to it, or there are a lot dumbass tv viewers out there.

Sopranos probably put them firmly on the map in terms of their own programming, but with schedule delays and bad writing, I only loved season 1 and 2.

The show that I can watch over and over and have done so over the years is The Larry Sanders Show.

Loved Rome. Loved Deadwood, but I can watch Larry Sanders over and over.

For drama, Deadwood wins it for me.

Ditto on Larry Sanders. I'm rewatching the series currently, on S5 now.

You are all wrong. The best show ever on HBO was Inside The NFL.
