If she wasn’t already broken then this role did it.

Great role for sure but I mean the character is pretty obviously Billy Bob Thornton. Wasn't a huge visual\cinematic transformation physically.
It's funny to watch other people give true examples of people becoming completely different people with the help of makeup and what not and you constantly shooting it down "nah I know that's him, I didn't know this guy was Billy Bob though"
Also hilarious to note the amount of actors playing mentally retarded people have made there way into this thread as examples.

I didn't think he had to act much in One False Move (1992). Felt like he might have just played a mean version of himself.

Youtube has a video of BBT getting into Carl character. No prostetics, juts his lower jaw put. Really cool.
I remember he had always refused to do it in interviews but when he was on Inside the Actors Studio with James Lipton he busted it out for a second and it was still awesome

Very small role but Donny Walberg in Six Sense.

Not a good movie, but Tom Hardy in Capone
I also always forget he was Alfie in Peaky Blinders.

Rainn Wilson as Dwight... Try to see him as anything else.

Tennent in Jessica Jones. Literally made a shitty TV show watchable.

One of my favorites. Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys

He will always be Arthur from Six Feet Under to me.

This was going to be my submission. McConaughey crushed this role and unlike most everything else he's in did it without making it feel like a MM movie.

Tom Hardy
Christian Bale
Philip Seymour Hoffman

didn't he also put glass or something in one of his shoes to force himself to limp along? Maybe it was that movie, or maybe it was another actor in a role with a pronounced limp, but I remember reading that somewhere.
