From what I've read, the movie is an allegory for climate change. It's not that big a surprise.

That said, it looks underwhelming.

Its funny. This place is underwhelmed.

A film board I go to (which is decidedly more left leaning) is cumming its collective pants.

I'm pretty excited about the space shots, it looked pretty freaking beautiful in the trailer

yeah I'll definitely see it

especially if the rumor is true, this movie has the potential for so many awesome threads

the Nolan fanboys, the rumor debates, the Nolan haters, etc

just epic

FYI:

This was originally a Spielberg project. He was attached to direct (along with about 10 other films), and he just never made it.

Then Nolan got a hold of it and his brother reworked the script I think.

Will be seeing it because of Nolan and Wooderson.

Has too much of a Contact feel to it (which was a letdown). But I'll see it because of those two guys listed above.

Jonathan Nolan wrote the script for Spielberg, but Spielberg dropped the project. Christopher Nolan then reworked the script with the help of Dr. Kip Thorne (a theoretical physicist from Cal Tech).

Sounds like they'll use a similar understanding of the theory of relativity as the Ender Quintet. He could travel for 50 light years, not age more than a few weeks, but his kids will have aged 50 years.

Looks interesting. I will definitely see it.

Well, yeah. Nolan could release a trailer of people just sitting on a couch and it would cause people to cream themselves.

So is he leaving earth circa 1950s or 60s?

if so it would make sense for him to return to meet his great grandkids or something that are all old degenerate assholes taking selfies and posting about kardashians

Not saying he didn't come up with that, but it's also the top comment on reddit right now.
