I'm aware it's consistent with the comics, but for a decade we have watched Capitan America, Thor, and Iron Man lead this franchise and the movies. If Brie Larson shows up at the end and saves everyone it will effectively negate the MCU
It seems pretty clear that there are going to be 2 major plot points in Endgame.
1. Undoing the damage caused by Thanos at the end of Infinity War (brings everyone back to life)
2. Defeating Thanos (kills people forever)
Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, etc are going to be instrumental to Point #1. The original Avengers will be instrumental to Point #2.

Scarlet witch decided there were too many mutaants in the world, so she altered reality and took away almost every mutant's powers.

Sigh
It's like there is something upsetting the balance.
Thor and Thanos could go toe to toe, and Thor would likely win.
But what if Thanos had a weapon that changed the dynamic. . .like a sword or a helmet?
Ooooh, or maybe a gauntlet that is among the most powerful things to exist in all of reality?
