Well of course not. It is not going to $1000 for 45'ish months

Finally some sunshine I was beginning to get depressed with all of this negativity

Why not buy an index fund like VOO with the majority?

Probably will. And some in a stock or two, and some in savings.

guess it depends what the money is for

This is just savings he has built up from working. He has a separate checking account that he uses for spending. The idea is to not touch much of the Fidelity account, though for a big purchase he might use some of it. I’d like for him to designate at least a portion to invest to introduce him to it.

My son has a fidelity youth savings account with about $3-5k. How much of this should I advise him to invest in this if he wants? Right now it’s all in SPAXX.

This is amazing. This kind of thing just doesn’t happen to me. I’m truly thankful.

ETA: This was me on 7/25/25, pg 2 of this thread trying to buy my first little bit. And here I am with another chunk waiting, doing it again

Yeah I’m in the same boat it takes what seems like a week to get settled with Schwab.

Or you could sell some shares.

Explain? My Roth is with Vanguard and I can’t buy on that platform

really debating dropping another 20k on it

I’m already in but went in with hesitation because I’m new to individual stock investing, so didn’t throw but $2500 at it. I’m quite happy with the gains.

However, I have 20k in my liquid savings account emergency fund. I’m thinking of investing half at this point. Worse case we need that cash in an emergency, I can raid my Roth principal ($300k plus in Roths between wife and I). I know a lot of people use their Roths as emergency funds of sorts anyway.

Added some shares here.
As usual when tech is red NBIS is dark red. What’s going on today to cause this drop?

Why just until retirement age?

Same here. What type of tasks are you thinking here?

Does everyone mean SCH WAB?

It’s been good for me. Hate it takes so long for cash to clear before I can invest but I guess I just need to plan in advance.
