organized religion in general is fricking retarded. the history of how they were formed and how they chose their scriptures and made their "rules" is fricking terrible and corrupt. they were formed to make the rich and powerful more rich and powerful by creating fear in society through the idea of a "higher power". It is all bullshite and if you research it with an unbiased mind you would agree with me.

The Catholic Church is literally the greatest business venture of all time.

that being said, I hate how in the Da Vinci code the answer to the cryptex was "apple". Voltaire fabricated the story about Newton and the apple. That would NEVER have been the fricking answer.

I started this life as a Catholic (mother) and am actually confirmed and that is my greatest embarrassment of all time. They literally pass around the collection plate asking for money and people will write checks for thousands of dollars. It blows my mind. God doesn't love you more because you bought the priest a grill guard for his hummer.

Scientology is a pretty solid money making machine as well.

oh and regarding this movie, I think it really butchers some awesome things from the book. Very entertaining but in the way the Harry Potter movies are entertaining while still leaving a lot of stuff out. Hoping for better with the Angels and Demons silver screen adaptation.

There's no hate. There's love. The love that a wise parent bestows on a 3rd grader.

That isn't true. I believe in the ability of people like you to transfer wealth to people like me.

I converted to Catholicism a couple of years, so not being a life-long Catholic might skew my opinion on this. However strictly from a fictional, dramatic story-line point of view I love the movie. I understand why the Catholic Church did not like the movie. It does not paint a very good picture of the church and religion for that matter. But I choose to not take it so personally or seriously. Anyone else share this view point.

As long as you relize that it's made up, there's no problem with watching it or enjoying it.

Move this to the poli board. Take you anti religion to the right place.

This is the dang Movie board.

And yes it is wrong to love the dang movie because it was terrible and the book was too.

I admit it was a fast read, but they spent so much time talking about how secret the knowledge was of the list of people that knew what was going on and yet everyone was found pretty dang easily.
