Fair, but that still doesn’t justify its ninja like abilities to sneak up on them.

If I were Spielberg I would justify it by saying that everyone was so caught up with trying to escape the raptors that the rumble from the T-Rex wouldn't be nearly as noticeable.

Sort of like how a football player might not see a tackler coming in from his side if he's focused on the ball flying through the air.

The real question is what killed the boat’s crew in The Lost World. Originally, the crew were slaughtered by velociraptors. But Spielberg cut this out and left it as is. (The Lost World was just a paycheck for Spielberg, so he really didn’t care that there were obvious errors.)

No idea why he cut the boat bit while keeping the stupid arse T-rex kill in front of the Blockbuster. Oh wait, yes I do. The studio wanted those sweet sweet advertising dollars.

That one has no good explanation. Just a complete frick up in editing.

Back to Jurassic Park...

Would Muldoon have been better off taking the HK out the weapon locker instead of the SPAS 12?

He would have been better off being Muldoon from the book. Muldoon and Gennaro are bad asses in the book and both survive. Book Muldoon also has rocket launchers.

His name is SLEDGEHAMMER, and you will put some respect on that name.

Why the frick would the door locks to the critically important control room be linked to the power? And even if so, why wouldn’t you have old fashioned dead bolts as backup?

Electricity for killing people is a bit overrated. If you’re struck by lightning, you have a 97% chance of surviving. You usually have to be zapped for a bit to be killed by it.

The fall would have for sure fricked him up.

He was getting the vials out. He wasn't fleeing. He planned to go right back. He planned to keep the job.

The lock was stupid to have his face but that was his station lock.

Since this thread includes sequels...

In Jurassic World, is the decision to go after Indominus Rex with electric shock sticks made for Compys the stupidest decision in the entire series?

Nah, it’s Grant’s assistant in Jurassic Park 3 stealing the Raptor eggs where he said he did it with “the best intentions”, and Grant takes him seriously on that. No, he did it to get rich like an a-hole. That’s the dumbest moment in the Jurassic Park franchise.

Having a pack of raptors surround them about to attack, then just leave in peace and run off when they gave back the eggs is by far the dumbest thing in the JP series

Yeah, I used to think that scene was dumb but I’ve accepted the fan cannon that there’s a feeding platform in the middle of the exhibit and cliffs on either side.

Ludlow, John Hammond’s nephew from The Lost World, is Cowboy from Full Metal Jacket.

I was astounded to learn he was from Missouri and not actually British.
