Per Lostpedia, Cross reference this:
With this:

Magnus was one of the greatest alchemists of all time, and was also the discoverer of the legendary "Philosopher's Stone" (which could allegedly be combined with certain metals to create a youth-preserving elixir; that would make its general objective similar to that of the Life Extension Project) and the creator of a supernatural device, an automaton which he named "Android." Using the "angels from the netherworld" and the powers of the Philosopher's Stone, he created "metals and material unknown to this world" and chose them "according to the stars and planets." This "android" was instilled with the powers of speech, thought, and according to some reports, a soul. Upon completion of this project, his student St. Thomas Aquinas destroyed the "diabolic being" and denounced it as "a tool of Satan and a blasphemy to God."

Richard Wallace, born in Maine in 1960, is the inventor of Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity - also referred to as Alicebot or simply Alice. It's a natural language processing chatterbot - a program that engages conversation with a human by applying some heuristical pattern matching rules to the human's input and in its online form it also relies on a hidden third person. Wallace authored a book titled "The Annotated A.L.I.C.E" - "The Annotated Alice" was a book Jack held in David's room. IMO there is no way Ben becomes the new Jacob. Part of the redemption was him giving up the opportunity to run the Island (as MIB) and getting nothing in return (and actually probably death). He can be forgiven, but with all that he has done he doesn't get to replace the man he killed. It's Jack, Jack, and Jack to replace Jacob. It has been set up from the opening scene of episode 1.

Anyone else notice the following:
Ilana stated there are 6 candidates still alive, presumably 4,8,15,16, 23,42.
Well that would be Locke, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid, Jack, and Kwon.
Anyone see the oddity here? Locke is dead, yet he is still being considered a candidate by Ilana.

Also, it is amazing the unbelievable amount of biblical references surrounding Ben and how many characters he is a metaphor for. He has been compared to Job and Judas. His speech about giving up his only daughter for Jacob was a straight metaphor for Abraham. And I think he now becomes Paul - the man who persecuted Christians only to become the biggest apostle.

There are 3 candidates still alive/active that aren't Locke, Hurley, Kwon, Jack, Sawyer, or Sayid according to the cave/dial.

Haasra , Grimwault, and Kysea. Whoever they are.

There are only 5 left that are not crossed out: Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid, and Kwon.
BUT Locke was crossed out last by the MIB, not Jacob. Also, Locke is part of the number sequence.
Ilana, knowing this apparently, given her conversation with Sun, still says there are six, meaning there is someone new, or Locke is still a candidate.

No, there are 8 that aren't crossed out.

Where are you getting that from? The sixth could be Kate seeing she is still open on the light house list.

Very interesting especially considering it was 108 Wallace that was part of the directions given to Hurley by Jacob to be used in the Lighthouse. However, what are you inferring regarding a hypothetical relationship between Magnus Hanso and Richard Wallace?

So why would here name be crossed out? And why would such an important character not be one of the "big 6" numbers.
