i am just throwing it out there because if she is calling her self kwon, but indeed sticks with korean tradition then her name would be Paik.
Meaning she is not the Kwon on the walls, meaning that Jin would be the candidate.

that would be cool if Jin was her lover.

I think with jin surviving two watercraft explosions you could make a good case for him being the candidate. I still think their baby is a viable option. I don't think sun is, though. Her legal name is still paik. Even if she wanted to break tradition and take jin's name, it wouldn't be smart to disassociate herself from her wealthy family.

Don't know if it has been discussed yet but did anyone else find it odd that Richard told Hurley not to listen to Jacob? Do yall think that just goes along with Richard being pissed about wasting his life or does he know something about the dead Jacob that we don't yet?

Jin and sun have to be married in the alternate timeline. Jin is still delivering the watches, which means he still works for mr. Paik, which means he still must be married to sun.

I think richard feels like following jacob will get you nowhere, since he spent 150 years or so doing it and gained nothing.

We now know that Widmore arrived at the island in the sub. Can we infer that Widmore = the Wallace that Jacob referenced in his instructions to Hurley?

That's a compliment coming from you. Who are YOU to judge any LOST fan? Frankly I don't see where you add much to the discussion other than berating other fans. Do you think you are some kind of little LOST demigod?

favorite miles moment ever last night.
ben is saying he can pay miles money if he releases him and miles just bust out nikki and paulo are sitting there burried with $8 million in diamonds
pretty sure that was a big darlton/cuse send off to nikki and paulo nd to stop people from asking about them

"well he was standing over his dead body with a bloody dagger..."
nice to see miles getting some good lines again. i think he had another one but my memory is shite.

And more than that, it actually gave sudden relevance to the nikki and paulo episode. Without them, miles would have had incentive to keep miles killing jacob a secret for blackmailing purposes. I found it hilariously clever.

I guess I just don't understand the signifigance of the Spirit of Esau....is his goal just to get back at Jacob? Seems to me like his main agenda is to leave the Island for whatever reason. Esau wasn't really regarded as evil, so why choose him? And if he does represent Esau, it's basically a "Jews/Christians are good Islam is bad" type thing. I don't think they would go in that direction. We'll see.
I don't think the Bible references should be taken literally and as already mentioned the connection with Islam isn't accurate. We will have to see how the ending plays out.

Ignore the Christian/Islam part.

Like I said, I don't think it's a direct or literal parallel. I think the writers have jacob and esau in mind as an abstract, as far as their relationship and general contrasting philosophies. But I can't imagine it has anything to do with organized religion. Remember, mib is only the "bad guy" in the context of the island.
That's the way I see it also. I don't think the references Jacob vs a hypothetical Esau should be taken literally rather the writers are picking and choosing various historic analogies which has added to the intrigue.

I think sun's surname is still legally paik. She's just calling herself kwon for her new life in america.
Could be which might mean that Jin is the Kwon candidate.

I know I'm late, but great episode. Not just the best of the season, but in my top 5 of the series.
The episode could have easily been called Redemption. Great moments for both Ben and Jack, although part of me wanted Ben to be Ben. I loved the scene with Ben and Illana, but when she told Ben "I'll have you", a little part of me wanted Ben to say "no thanks" and shoot her in the back. As I said, I loved the scene, but I also love evil Ben.

that was intelligent, insightful, well thought out, and well put
question:
Who wrote it?
Hot Carl: "I had been meaning to post this for a few weeks now, but haven't had the time."
Do you have any evidence that Hot Carl didn't write this? Apparently not or you would have presented it. "you're the worst Lost fan ever"
