Well if he knows that their unborn baby is going to be a candidate, he probably knows that Jin is infertile before they even find out. I'm assuming a lot of things about the extent of Jacob's power, but I don't think it's more unreasonable than some other speculation.

I agree. I'm just pointing out that Jacob didn't "cure" Jin's infertility.

Maybe not directly, no. He seemingly cured Juliet's sister and Dogen's son, however.

ETA: And revived Locke when he fell from the building.

I get what you're saying... that the island simply increases sperm count tenfold. But it's not clear whether Jin's sperm count was simply too low or if he was incapable of producing fertile sperm at all. Doesn't really matter anyway... Jacob allowed Jin to become fertile either way.

The Island still has healing powers guys. Not every mystical thing in the show has to be attributed to Jacob and MIB.

I was just saying that it could have been either Jacob or the island. Each of those have different implications, though that are pointless to ramble about. It doesn't really matter either way. What does matter is that it seems that Jacob guided Jin and Sun to the island to have a child.

Everyone... his name is Dogen. Not Dodgen. Not Doogan. Not Dogan (close though).

It's Dogen.

Dogen.

Didn't Sayid kill Kemy (the mercanery/loan shark) in the on-island timeline. I remember Kemy wrestling with either Richard or Sayid, but I can't remember who ends up pulling the trigger to save the other one. Richard or Sayid?

Ben killed him, leading to the explosion of the boat.

I think Ben was stabbing him in the neck while Locke was trying to save the freighter people from the dead man's trigger.

edit: too slow

Yeah I forgot about that, but who was it (Sayid/Richard) who shot him twice and thought they had killed him?

"Ben, what did you do...you just killed everyone on that boat."
"So?"

Best one liner in the show.

Richard shot Keamy as Keamy was choking Sayid to death.

That's definitely a good one, but I prefer "What about you?!"

If we had a list of Lost's best one liners, Ben would have the overwhelming majority of them.

My favorite was when James asked Carl in season 3 what they do on Hydra Island. Carl says "We work... on projects" And James says, "Oh, like the steal the kid off the raft project? that was a real humdinger."

since you brought that up...Claire wasn't surprised that Jin could speak english? I mean if someone I knew started shooting out a different language I'd probably notice. doesn't really matter at all but I did notice that

I don't know, Sawyer is a strong contender for that position.

What did Kate see? Her facial expression when the smoke is passing over her was great. She is obviously seeing something important because she is literally stunned for the remainder of the episode. I rewatched it and there is something going on. I can only make out flashes of light in the smoke so maybe one of you guys can slow it down and see if anything is visible.

I think she was more in awe/shock of the smoke monser and its power. And there were people inside of it as it flew over her and Claire. You can put it on slow-motion and kinda see people, and at the same time, you can hear human screams as they fly over.
