gotcha, thanks. The only things spoiled to me are the next two episodes, so I don't know how the ending will play out, thankfully.

BTW, I didn't mean to imply that your Cusick info was a spoiler,

Gregg Nations FAIL
I'm almost to the point of sending him hate mail.

The sideflash timeline would also technically start when 815 passed over the Island.
Not sure about this. Shannon was not on the plane in the F-S so I think if there was a split, it should have happened earlier...best guess would be the Incident.

The injuries though is why I'm thinking it would start when 815 passed over the Island. Shannon doesn't have to be present on 815 for this to happen.

You might have to expand on that a little.
I'm still having trouble cracking exactly what the F-S is and why it is.

One comment made by MIB during the last episode really caught my attention. MIB told Jack that because Jacob chose him, he was trapped on the Island even before he got there. Now that Jacob's dead, they were both free to leave.
Does anyone think the writers were hinting at parallels between Jack and MIB? I know that many people think that Jack could be the new Jacob. Any chance that Jack could be the new MIB...that Jack is in a sense a candidate for MIB?
Just trying to think outside of the box. Haven't really thought out all of the implications yet.

Don't think so because of what Jacob lead Jack to do at the Lighthouse

Jack is also someone seemingly destined to be living a life alone, in both timelines so I think he'll be the next Jacob.

What? Smash the mirrors?
I'm not saying that I agree with the theory I posited. I just think that anything is possible at this point.

exactly, not to mention that Jacob said that he wanted them as far away from the Temple as possible.
Has this been posted before? Jack and Locke conversation.

I don't understand why MIB would need to now assume the form of Jack. He has a human form now. At some point, he lost the previous form as shown in The Incident. Why would he need to assume Jack's form? I'm just asking, because I don't know. Are you saying that would be his permanent form and restore MIB's humanity?
Posted on 5/4/10 at 7:33 pm to STLSU
I just think he needs all the candidates to die/kill themselves/whatever and he will leave with Locke's form. Then all hell will break loose, like Hurley predicted. I don't know how that would happen, FWIW, just my opinion, man.

I think that if MIB had Jacob's permission, he could leave the Island. The Candidates are some form of fail safe to where he must personally go with them or have their permission to leave the Island. That or they must be dead.

That makes a lot of sense man. And the failsafe is a nice seguay to the Swan hatch. LOST writers love to continue and expand upon themes or occurrences.

That's not what I was trying to explore. When MIB told Jack that he was trapped on the Island before he even got there, I was wondering if that maybe was a hint that MIB has always been Jack. I know that it is a far-out idea and would imply more time travel...probably a -13% chance of happening.
Edit: my point is that the true identity of MIB is very important and I think it might be a character that we already know.

I see. I guess I just think that MIB's humanity is gone, and he just assumes the shape of people, and will never regain his humanity. Gotta run though, the pc is connected to the TV and it's almost LOST time

Is ABC acting f'd up on anyone else's TV?

"You're a canidate"
"I can fix you"
"you saved him"
I fricking love the irony in the dialogue this season
