what could be worse than Hurley-centric? He's right behind Michael as my least favorite character

I completely forgot about Michael. He's another one that I would have shot in the leg and left to bleedout if I was on the island.

Hurley centric episodes aren't bad, aside from "Everybody Hates Hugo" which is just terrible. I like Hurley. But I agree with you on Michael. I absolutely hate him and his centric episodes are easily the worst out of all the characters.

Michael just didn't understand common sense. I'm glad he's dead.

I'm pretty sure Walt was smarter than Michael, even as a child.

My current theory is he can't kill anyone he deems as morally righteous, so if Richard is morally righteous, then he can't kill him. Thats why I don't think he could kill Jacob. Its the rules that the Monster has to follow.

I disagree. For one, I don't think MIB is in any position to be judging the righteousness of anybody. But two--and the bigger reason--is that I think it ignores another theme of the entire show--moral ambiguity. All the characters seem to be inherently good people, but are also inherently flawed. They all sin, and none would be above judgement. None are "morally righteous." Yet none are beyond redemption, either.

What has Hurley done in his past that was "bad"? He might be the only one unless I am forgetting something.

Ben has told "Locke" that the Monster's duty on the Island is a judge. He has demonstrated this quality with Eko, Nikki, and Paulo. And I think the Monster takes into account if they are actually sorry for the crimes they commit and may spare them if this is the case. Kinda how Catholicism treats forgiveness.

He refused to repent for his sins and said he had no remorse over the sins he has committed. I do think if he repented that the Monster would have spared him.

I had a dream last night this episode was Nikki and Paulo-centric.

I just read a remote spoiler that seems to support my theory on why The Monster can't kill Jacob:

Dude THIS is a spoiler. You don't say this, and then space out a spoiler when you've already spoiled it.

When has Ben ever told the truth?
