I seriously doubt Rodriquez is using the film for political purposes.
It will be interesting to see how Rodriquez and the actors present the subject matter during interviews. Perhaps I'm over stating the political nature of the film but I suspect a political point regarding immigration will be made in the upcoming promotional appearances.

I'm sure it will come up, but only because people like you are talking about it. This is about the same as the church groups that came out against Harry Potter. All they really did was give free publicity to something they wish fewer people would see.

My posting on Tiger droppings is going to influence how the director presents the subject matter of his film? I'm more far reaching than previously imagined.

Not the same at all. In fact, its no where close to being similar.

There's a discussion of the movie on the poli board. You'd probably be more in your element over there.
Word of the day, Mexplotation.

Lindsay Lohan spends her little time in the movie completely naked, apparently.

You couldn't pay me to see this anti-American garbage.
THERE IS A WAR ON FOR YOUR MIND
Wow, I can't believe there are sights like that out there.
Ads for "Survival Gardens", "Millionaire Patriot Wants you Armed & Trained", "The most lethal self defense system in the world, "The Coming Food Shortage", "How to Survive Martial Law In America"(Wow, just fricking, Wow), and "Crisis Cooker-cooks hot meals when the power is out".
I don't think I need to pay attention to what those flakes think about my entertainment choices.
If that was on paper it might be good to wipe with.
Regualar readers of that shite probably sit and watch Fox news all day.

I'll rent it at some point and end up seeing it, won't go to the theater to see it for sure though.
My first thought when I saw the preview was "why is DeNiro in this?"

I pretty much ask myself this for anything he's starred in for the last 10 plus years!

I understand. I also volunteer to comfort this troubled young lady in anyway I can. That's the kind of guy I am.

Who says altruism is lacking in this country? Its this type of socially engaging and caring act that continues to give me hope.

Any one see it? Is it as awesome as it looks? I'm taking my little brother to see it this weekend.

Probably. Unless the dialogue explicitly talks about political topics as if they are trying to shove down your throat I don't see how it could affect the enjoyment of the movie. It's an exploitation film so just go in and enjoy the gratuitous sex and violence and forget about politics for 90 or so minutes.

Saw it today with 5 mexicans.
I thought it was good, kind of crazy scenarios, but was still good. Lots of stereotypes in the movie but it was still funny to me.
