Obergruppenfuhrer is the goat character
Also trade minister and kido are great
Also like Joe's Perfect Aryan girlfriend

I never thought I'd see the actor who played Ed in anything major after seeing him in Road Trip many, many years ago. He is not a very good actor

Great summary, just finished S2. A nice step up from season 1 in my opinion. I also liked Rufus (Obergruppenfuhrer) in The Illusionist as Crown Prince Leopold.

I'm avoiding spoilers in this thread, but it drove me a bit crazy that they didn't have a "previously on", because I literally forgot almost half the stuff that happened in S1, so I'm a bit lost right now.
Netflix does this if its been awhile in between seasons since you've watched.

Season 1 Spoilers
Basic plots
Trade Minister Tagomi conspired with a Nazi to get nuclear bomb plans so there would be parity between the Japanese and Nazis reducing the likelihood of war.
The Nazis assassinated the Japanese prince, which is something Frank was going to do himself but the Nazis beat him to it. Still that put Frank in the wrong place at the wrong time and his friend Eddie ended up getting captured and accused of killing the prince. The Japs didn't want to blame the Nazis and start a war.
Juliana's sister Trudy was with the resistance and died before she started a mission to deliver a film to the resistance in the Neutral Zone. Juliana takes over for Trudy and goes to the Neutral Zone with the film. Joe is a Nazi spy that drove to the Neutral Zone posing as a member of the resistance. He and Juliana meet, he finds out about the film and eventually follows her back to San Francisco where an awkward love triangle ensues. They watch the film where Joe shoots Frank in the back of the head. Juliana helps Joe escape on a boat with the film which really pisses the resistance off.
We see Hitler watching these films up in his castle in the Mountains so it appears that Hitler is the Man in the High Castle.
Trade minister Tagomi shoots up some cortexiphan, concentrates really hard, and then finds himself in the Blueverse America we all know and love.

I finished Season 2 episode 2.
I was so confused about Juliana all of a sudden being with Stephen Root's character which I guess is the Man in the High Castle, and then all of a sudden they are trying to kill her.
I had no clue wtf was going on.

He didn't want to kill her (Lemmy mentioned as much in the car ride), his right hand man did because he didn't trust her with Root's identity.

on Season 2 ep 3 now.
The tapes show the other dimension as well as a forecasted one (Nazi bombing SF)?

Why did Juliana join the reich to seek asylum?
Wouldnt the Japs be a better fit?

IIRC, she was just trying to get away from the resistance. The Nazi's had an embassy or something in the West that was on lockdown, so she figured it was her best shot.

In addition to what Thrillho listed, she thought San Francisco was going to get nuked. She tried to get her family to leave too, remember? Stop playing on your phone while you watch

Spoilers for season 1
It doesn't forecast, it just shows alternate realities, but that doesn't stop most of the people in the show from treating it like they're seeing their own world. Only Tagomi and presumably Hitler and TMINHC understand the nature of these films. To everyone else it's either propaganda or magic, they aren't in on the secret of alternate realities.

The other dimension WTF?
Admittedly haven't paid too much attention because the show is a little B team, but interesting because of a great concept.
What is the deal with Kennedy and shite? Alternate dimension? Is that ever even explained?

This is not a show to watch in the background.
Spoilers for people on Season 1
Trade minister Tagomi has the ability to transport himself to alternate realities.
Minor spoilers for Season 2
In the Redverse where Tagomi lives, his wife is dead or left him or something. In season 2 he travels to the Blueverse and just shows up at his house to find his wife and son. They act like he left, possibly after feuding with his son over marrying a Gaijin (damn dirty foreigner), so I guess that's conveniently why he didn't open his own door when he knocked. And for a few days during the Cuban Missile crisis he hangs out with his family that no longer exist in the universe where he's from. That's why you saw Kennedy.
Tagomi's son is a war protestor and his protest group watches a war news reel from their world which Tagomi collects and brings back when he returns to the Redverse. That film will play an important role later in Season 2.

SPOILERS
In one of the behind the scenes videos, the producer implied Blueverse Tagomi left his family and committed suicide. The producer also implied that you can't jump from one universe to another if there's already one of you there. This is why Redverse Tagomi was able to cross into the Blueverse.

I'm halfway through Season 2 and it is really creeping along this year - and a bit hard to follow. Do things start picking up soon?

Alexa Davalos (Juliana) is weird. Sometimes I think she looks okay. Then other times she looks fine as frick.
