The scene where the son said goodbye to Marley hit home
seeing him in the car before being taken to the animal hospital is what hit home for me. I had to put our last dog into the car before we put him to sleep so that scene really brought me back to that experience.

Saw this on friday. Read the book and noticed a few things that SHOULD have been included but were not.. Marley never went to a baseball game but DID star in a movie role (The last homerun) this was a big moment in his life so I dotn get why they left it out plus it was comical in the book. Also they changed how he got his name a bit and they left out his crazy arse dad. The scene with the girl being stabbed was also cutr short.. It was the moment they realized that Marley would fight to the death for them.. But they didnt even show Marley protecting them. I was disappointed not to see some key moments like these. And hated the montage they used to skip through the book. But I liked the movie otherwise. I thought Anniston did a great job playing Jen. I wish they would not have changed Wilson's part so much from the book though. The end was very sad though. My GF was crying from the mid point on though.

How old and how mature are they? We saw it and people behind us had about a 7 or 8 year old and she was crying "mommy why did you bring me to see such a sad movie?" at the end and that broke my heart. It is a very funny and very sad movie, i cried, but am glad I saw it. I would explain to them what happens at the end of a dogs or persons life and do what you think is best.

To answer the kids question
as well as being a very sad movie there is also moments where sex is discussed and baby making etc... Probably would make your kids have alot of questions about baby making...IMO

Took my kids to see it today. The more adult scenes were way over their heads. They really liked. My little one proclaimed it "the bestest movie I never seen in my whole life!"
