Million Dollar Secret - Netflix Competition Show

They're 2/3 of the way through this show, with the final episodes releasing April 9, but this has been a great show. Much like The Contract, but with a fun twist - Most competition shows have the players working to win a cash prize at the end.
Million Dollar Secret randomly gives the $1M to a player in the very first episode and the challenge is KEEPING it. Clues to the millionaire's identity are given as challenge rewards, and there are multiple plot twists that keep everyone guessing.
Bonus: It's hosted by actor Peter Serafinowicz, who provided the voiceover for Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace.

He's a great character actor that you'll recognize even if his name doesn't ring a bell.

Saw this and was intrigued. Haven’t had time to dive into it.
Are all the contestants ‘influencers’?

No, they all seem to be normal people, but there's one female contestant who give that "influencer ick", even if that's not her "job".

From the show’s Wikipedia page, the contestants range in age from 27 to 64 and most appear to have normal jobs. Only one “life coach” in the bunch…an In-N-Out cook, CEO, stay at home mom, etc.
I really liked the first season of The Mole and this show, while different in some ways, sounds similar in many ways. I might have to check this out.

The scenery at this luxury lodge up in British Columbia is absolutely breathtaking.
I don't watch The Traitors on Peacock, but it's similar in theme & execution as The Trust, also on Netflix.

I did a casting call for the first season, a hundred years ago. Reality tv didn't exist in its current incarnation at the time. The first season of Survivor was airing or had just aired, I believe. Ultimately I wasn't comfortable with the level of deception they were saying needed to be employed on The Mole.
MDS could be done without outright lying through your teeth, I believe. Each episode, the Millionaire is given a task to accomplish, and if they succeed, they get some sort of advantage.

They were mean as heck at the first girl eliminated..
I mean you gotta do what you gotta do. No reason to flip on someone. They all know the game.
Overall, an excellent watch.

Watched the first episode. Seems like a bunch of influencers over acting and over produced.
I don’t believe the hot Mexican chick wearing 3lbs of makeup is a cop in real life.

Eh, she's typical for a NYC woman.

Really? I thought she played an amazing game. She was totally under the radar for the first half of the game, and then practically every hunch she had about who was lying, who had the money, when someone was fishing for info when she was the millionaire, etc. was totally over the target.
If there is a such way to win one of these game and minimize the level of deception employed while doing so, Cara did it.

Cara so deserved to win. Sydnee was a smokeshow. Fun show. Corey. Ugg. Played by Cara the whole time.

She was attractive until she opened her mouth. Once it was obvious that she was her own biggest fan, she became objectively ugly.
