Fun fact: Tom Hiddleston (Loki) audition for Thor and was deadset on playing Thor or no until the studio said they were all but giving the part to Chris Hemsworth. He went all in on Loki.

Another true story: Alexander Skaarsgard (Eric Northman from True Blood) campaigned as well to played Thor. Can't imagine why a tall, Scandinavian bad arse would want to play the baddest character with Scandinavian roots....

but I enjoyed last summer's XMen much more myself.

it was somewhat serious, so it may not qualify as a "comic book" movie

I was surprised with how well Hawkeye worked into the team on the big screen. Loved his quiver customizing his tips.
Let's go, Legolas.

For some reason I thought it was really funny when Captain got the flying monkey reference and was so excited about it.

I was more reminded of the end of Ender's Game. Hive minds are a ridiculous deus ex machina in science fiction/fantasy movies anyway.

The more hours I put between myself and the movie the more it feels hollow. It was a pretty movie that has clearly made the fanboys of these characters very happy, but it wasn't exactly a "good" movie. It was like the first transformers.

The rest of us realized it the minute we walked out of the theaters.

Some of the best scenes were the heroes fighting. I never got over the awe that all these guys that had their own movies were in one together. When Thor tackled Hulk and they slowly got up, looking at each other I said "Ohh shite...here we go!"

Also, I forgot to mention but I really enjoyed what they did with Hawkeye/Renner. He seems to play a villain much of the time and is one of the more underrated guys in Hollywood imo. I think with this and the new Bourne movie coming out he'll begin to get his just due. I liked that they let him do what he does and play a "villain" for half the movie when he was being controlled by Loki...of course, he was also awesome as a hero at the end.

Because DUH! If you don't share someone's opinion, you're automatically a troll!

Movie was incredible.

Best moment for me was when Loki was just about to start his monologue and then the Hulk just grabs him and slings him around like a rag doll

My theater lost their minds at that scene.

frick people who clap in the middle of the movie. I'm trying to catch the dialouge and these dumbasses are clapping.

Also, not related to the movie, but the best thing I've ever seen in a movie theater, kid gets up to go the bathroom and his friend takes his seat, he comes back and they start arguing over the seat, the girl sitting on my left turns around and shouts, "IT'S JUST A frickING SEAT, SIT THE frick DOWN", I about lost my shite.

That was Joss Whedon 101.

He is the master of sudden, unexpected humor.

A couple black guys behind me went nuts during that scene. I laughed, but their uncontrollable laughter made it even funnier to me.
