this movie would have been a lot better without CA and with the banner/stark interplay with thor/hulk fricking shite up

Naaaa. He was the heart of the group too. He always has been.

??? Were we watching the same film. Stark handled the where's and why's of what was going on. The only scene where Stark was "leading" was telling Cap what to do about the engine.

i'm also curious how we are crediting cap with all this strategy when stark had as much, if not more

I don't know if it's Chris Evans or the writing, but Cap is an incredibly dull character in these movies. They also didn't do a good job of differentiating his abilities from Hawkeye and Black Widow, which I think somebody else already mentioned. I think that Black Widow might be able to kick his arse if he didn't have the shield after watching that movie.

Just got back from seeing this film and it was everything I wanted and expected...full on action, plenty of good one liners and great arse shots of Scar Jo. It also had nothing of what I didn't want to see, bunch of overly dramatic crying arse drama.

Oh btw, as bad as people are hating on Loki, the true purpose of the film was to establish the new villain that is looking forward to taking on the avengers.

Wrong again. Did you even watch the movie? Are you just trying to be some kind of cool internet contrarian? If so stop, because you suck at it. Horribly.

He's not that exciting and his character is out of place in our world. As for Black Widow kicking his arse, not a chance, unless she used her secret weapon... her arse. While Cap is her like giving her the ole she can be all like and then while he is and take him and be like and then Cap will be all like and then she can be like while we are all watching like

I think you went into the movie with a "Avengers for beginners" mentality.

His leadership and ability had already been fleshed out.

what weakness?
Loki's abject fear of Thor, the enemy's inability to ignore powerful targets, The enemy's complete lack of organization.

lolwut?

Stark was just fly fast and shoot. Even he deferred to Rodgers.

well it was the first avengers movie

Stark was just fly fast and shoot.

he came up with a variety of strategies to attack the big whale things

he led them into bottlenecks without commands from CA

he figured out how to stop all of the enemies himself

he figured out where the vortex was going to open, and directed everyone (esp banner) there

Only one worked.

Jonah

That's what Cap told him to do, set them up for Hawkeye.

Individually? most, not all.

Cap devised a strategy to fight the threat proper, not individual baddies.

he figured out where the vortex was going to open
Because he realized he and Loki are equally egotists.

Ughh dude, not the same at all.

ID4 they had no choice but to do so. The guy actually went up into the ship's central weapon.

In this movie, they had to stop a nuke and said frick it, we'll use it to our advantage, go through the portal and frick them up without fighting. It was a shortcut, not the only option. It also wasn't their first option, but one that presented itself.

That is the Phantom Menace response.

In ID4, the other ships just lost their shields.

Stark is more of a leader in the modern take of the Avengers.
