They can go so many directions with this. Just like Negan is leveraging Daryl against Rick, he is no doubt leveraging Rick and crew against Daryl. I could see Daryl refusing a rescue attempt, then what does Rick do? Like I said earlier in the thread, they might stick with a Negan based story line for multiple seasons because it's pretty fertile ground. The best way for Rick to get out might be gladiator style, submit and make enough money to buy their freedom.

Maybe try to get some of Negan's men to turn on him (Negan). I'm thinking he has broken every one of them in the same way he broke Rick and maybe some are at the end of their rope. Who knows.
I'm thinking this as well. Surely some of them were in a similar situation to Rick & co. and are going to be all about a revolt against Negan.

Both Carol and Daryl are the wild cards of the show still because they're main characters and one has deviated far from her comics character and other doesn't exist in that world. Anything with them will be fresh even for the avid readers.

Negan had a throwaway line delivery to one of his guys dealing with Daryl that communicated that character's position as a fallen disciple in a big way.
I don't know if that was supposed to be considered a throwaway line. If you're talking about the guy with Daryl's crossbow who offered to kill him, then that's Dwight from last season. He's the one who screwed Daryl over after Daryl helped him and those two girls out.

Luckily for us, he's portrayed fairly well. lol just thinking back on it, had negans men rolled into Woodbury..Seems like it would be just been another day at the office, governor would've been gone that same day.
Off the subject..
The "reaction" videos to the episode on YouTube have kept me entertained today.

I took that to symbolize that Rick realized zombies were no longer the important threat to him or the group.
I also think it was for the audience too, this was the first time where a human killing was more brutal than any bite or herd attack. They generally know how to survive zombies now, can they survive other humans?

killed 2 of my favorite characters. there are some terrible characters they could have killed instead. trying hard to be GOT.

The GOT comparisons need to stop. Both of the character's deaths are meaningful is turning the show on it's head. The cliffhanger at the end of last season was done for effect and to get people talking. It was much more meaningful to have it go down to open this season and the new chapter in the series rather than try to slam all of that into the end of S6.

If they killed Aaron or Eugene, nobody would give a shite; the audience or the actual characters in the show. Hell, Abraham's corpse was almost an afterthought to some of the original group. If Aaron was the guy that had his brains bashed in, they might have forgotten to bring the body back with them.

My fruity tootty hillary supporting boss was all up in arms today..."They went too far. They crossed a line. Just too much. Had to cover my eyes, etc"
If Hillary was Negan, everyone would be talking about how Abraham and Glenn committed suicide by bashing themselves over the head repeatedly with a bat.
