would probably suffer with today's communication technology. But, it if was set in a place with "no service".
Food of the Gods could definitely be done, set on an island with no communication.

Race with the Devil is a gem. What an interesting movie and I love Warren Oates in anything. He elevated the films he was in, Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia, Ride The High Country, The Wild Bunch, Two lane blacktop, The Border, etc.
Yeah he was great and I like all those movies. I also like a couple of mob movies he did too playing the titular role in both The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond and Dillinger. I like him too as Martin Sheen's father in Badlands.

A more modern version would probably be something like Kurt Russell in Breakdown but even that was before cell phones really took off.

I'm tempted to say Body Double as well as it's certainly his most fun movie but I think I'll go with Blow Out.
A24 did a documentary on him back in 2015 that was pretty good.

Uh I'll go with Blow out which I think is a grossly underrated film
Posted on 5/19/25 at 10:56 am to OWLFAN86
I wouldn't call it underrated but yeah its great

I meant to post this earlier. Sorry I didn't. We missed some good Westerns.

Best car chase ever
This is the most popular take. And it’s right for a number of reasons, but the car chasing a man on foot on a commuter train in The French Connection, an homage to Bullitt, may actually surpass it.

If you’re a big Mann fan checkout The Beauty of Michael Mann YouTube video. It’s a 6-7 minute video with some of his best shots set to music.
