Did they not use to fight bad guys out of suits on in the show?
I thought almost every episode was:
Crew is hanging out at the park, bad guys show up and they fight.
Crew whoops up on them.
Bad guys comes up back with a main bad guy, crew suits up and they fight.
Crew takes out all the smaller bad guys leaving just the main bad guy.
Main bad guy morphs into some huge version.
Crew gets in their big zord and blows up the big guy.

All they had to do in the original was hit them in the chest emblem.

I'm with some of you guys about the having powers without the suits thing. They probably should have just had them fight only with suits in the movie. There's no need to change the origin like that, IMO.
I am looking forward to the movie, though.

They would fight outside the suits but not with powers. They all knew how to fight. The added super powers just makes the suits less interesting to me.
