And was Javier Bardem's performance as great as everyone said it was? All the reviewers are saying he is without question the greatest Bond villain ever.

Bardem is the fvcking shite and one of the main reasons I am PUMPED for this movie.

I saw it last night in IMAX & thought it was great. Maybe it's because I'm not a James Bond fanboi , but I grew up watching the movies.

You don't have to be a James Bond fanboi to like it, most of the people that piss and moan on this board go to an action flick hoping to take some kind of Shakespearian moment away from each movie. I just like watching movies and having a good time....

I was sad too, my friend. I love the bond flicks. It is still worth a watch for Bardem only; he was great. They didn't explore his character AT ALL though so it kind of sucked.

It was a lot better than that abortion QoS, but cant touch Casino Royale.

both films had very few Bond elements and didn't bother to follow the same formula that has kept this franchise running for 50 years.

Good. Old school Bond is completely outdated and ludicrous.

This. It is very very good. Not like goldeneye at all. I think of it as a darker and more modern Bond.

I really liked Casino Royale as a whole, and I know this is only a small part of an entire movie, but the final gambling scene just drives me insane.

Why the fvck can't anyone ever win a cinematic gambling scene on like a pair of 6s with a King high?!?! That hand had like a flush, a full house, a higher full house, a 4 of a kind, and then a straight flush? WTF?!?!

I was laughing outloud.

That's the only part of Royale I dislike as well.

That shite was hilarious.

Last night, the scene in the Shanghai Tower was great. Very well shot. Great lighting, music, and choreography.

Agree. Everything since Goldeneye has kind of been "meh." This one was great.

Daniel Craig and Casino Royale pulled me by my balls back into the Bond franchise after several mediocre Brosnan bore fests. QoS left me scratching my head at the cluster it was. Just when I thought I was out, Skyfall pulled me back in!

Wasn't a perfect film but man is it fun, beautifully shot, and Bardem was very good. Plus you learn where Bond comes from. Bloody entertaining!

Agreed. I really liked this one. I felt that it tried its best to return to the original Bond formula. Lots of classic Bond references.

Also, there were plenty of witty laughs in there too.

Too me, it kinda felt like an origin story.

I'd probably give it 4.3/5 stars. Only real qualm is that they didn't really fill you in on Bardem's character as much as I'd like.

I put it slightly ahead of Casino.

Movie was great. The ending was a mix between the Bourne Identity and Home Alone

Disagree with this completely.

This one movie went deeper into the character of Bond, his motivations, relationships, and desires more than all of the Brosnan ones put together.

The villains plan was "shallow". It wasn't some grand global takeover/manipulation like most Bond films, it was just about revenge but that's all.

I've heard some people say it was to different from previous films and that is legitimate if your familiarity with the franchise is the films from the 80's and 90s but something about it reminded me of the first few Connery films.

I am a big fan of bond movies and really liked Skyfall and it is better than the Quantum of Solace. I think Mendes has done great job with Skyfall and made it polished, entertaining and thriller with some of the best action scenes which were not in earlier bond movies.
