Wrong. 54% of those who logged in gave it a negative review. That includes fricking 4chan trolls who each created dozens of accounts to have their meltdowns.

More realistic methods, like face-to-face exit reviews gave it an 'A' average. Google, IMDB, Metacritic, etc. also gave it mostly positive reviews. But sure, fall back on the rigged RT audience score and the dregs of the TigerDroppings Political Talk forum.

You people should be and are being ignored for a reason.

Ah yes, you are parroting the Disney-approved conspiracy theory.

They very easily could have been. That's the point.

Disney had tons of books and stories to go off of and make and awesome universe out of.

I don't care if you admit you're wrong, or not.

This was confirmed by more than just Disney. The people who did it didn't even bother denying it. They were fricking proud that you idiots ate it up.

I thought we wanted new stuff. Wasn't that the problem? Nobody wanted stories that had already been told...

Also, I'll just laugh at you if you try telling me that Disney could make billions off of obscure stories that the Mandalorian Platoon loves.

No one wanted rehashed movies. You seem unable to grasp this point.

No one is complaining the The MCU or dcu is adapting comic books.

No one wanted the old OT characters and story lines rehashed. A Thrawn trilogy would've killed.

People would've laughed at you 10 years ago of you said iron man could make billions.

Make quality movies in the Star Wars universe and they could've printed money. They chose to rehash old story lines and characters and they failed.

Billions in revenue suggests otherwise.

No they wouldn't have. It wasn't even close to a surprise at the box office.

quote:

Benson, who is the Vice President of Communications at Fandango, the parent company of Rotten Tomatoes, told me that Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes are fully confident in the ratings and scores for the Star Wars picture. She assured me that Rotten Tomatoes has gone to great lengths to verify their ratings' accuracy and authenticity. “We have several teams of security, network, and social database experts who constantly monitor reviews and ratings to ensure that they are genuine,” Benson said. “They haven’t seen anything unusual with The Last Jedi, except that there has been an uptick in the number of written user reviews submitted. Aside from that, everything is normal and we don’t see any unusual activity. We looked at The Last Jedi compared to other blockbusters and it has been consistent with those past films.”

For such a rare event picture like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the increased level of interest and participation in review sites is to be expected. Benson told me that the picture has received a “comparable number of reviews to The Force Awakens." Some critics and social media commenters have questioned the gap between the Rotten Tomatoes score and the ratings on other services, highlighting it as proof that there is something amiss with the Rotten Tomatoes numbers. Though Quartz and other outlets have explored how the score may be rigged, the simpler and far more credible explanation is simply that a lot of people don’t like the movie. One widely circulated story about an anonymous individual who runs the Facebook page “Down With Disney’s Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys” claims that this person created bots to manipulate the Rotten Tomatoes score. But Benson and other company reps I spoke to dismissed such claims as nonsense. Although anyone can post whatever they want on the site in the effort to drive ratings either up or down, Rotten Tomatoes has nearly two decades experience at identifying and controlling for such efforts to push the scores in one direction or another.

I can't believe they keep feeding this idiot troll.

Just stop. He'll get bored and go back to eating his cheerios and watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates soon.

You can't get a troll or a moron to see intelligent reason. Its impossible. So just stop beating your head against the wall.

That's not accurate. WW, Solo will finish higher than the IH, and Captain America TFA. Domesticaly, it'll also do more than Ant Man and Thor.

On the bright side, I'd heard a rumor that a new successor is expected to be brought in sometime in September, and Kennedy will step down after the person is named. SIAP....

'Intelligent reason' so far has consisted of "The Rotten Tomatoes reviews are accurate because Rotten Tomatoes says so."

You're a dumbass.

MCU says hi. And Disney has exponentially lowered the number of movies they release. I think they're down to just 12-15 a year. That's less than half of the other major studios.
