Every time there’s a “planet blockade” the heroes fly right into it.

However, the camera always shows behind that if they just left via the South or North Pole of said planet they’d get away with no shots fired.

Planet blockade only work if there’s a million ships covering it, and there never has been.

Just covering the Equator, and then having the heroes fly right into them is lame. George should’ve thought it through

Equatorial blockade is enough. Lasers don't dissipate in space. As long as there's line of site the ships or stations at the Equator can bring overwhelming firepower to polar approaches.

This makes me think it is not uncommon in the Star Wars universe for some poor bastard to be standing in his back yard and catches a stray laser.

I would assume it’s like parking an air craft carrier.

the fighter crafts are supposed to do the work. but blockading a planet clearly is hard
