I told my wife after the movie that the dialogue was for kids. I felt like I was watching a PG movie.

Aside from the awful dialogue and editing, the story itself makes no sense. Why would Waller recruit regular people like Deadshot and Harley Quinn to combat metahumans? It should've been the squad going after the Joker, or someone similar to that. What a Wasted opportunity.

I posted this on the other thread. Funny stuff, but this is exactly how I felt after watching this film.

Deadshot is pretty much a meta-human. That shooting display in the prison yard confirms that his aim is not on a human level.

Harley falls in the Boomerang category of "went up against a metahuman and lived to tell about it." Not that Batman is a metahuman, but as far as the government knows he may be. If Harley has been able to confound Batman then they may consider her an asset for the team.

But the entire concept of a Suicide Squad or a Dirty Dozen is an extreme entertainment concept. Once you look too closely at who are on these teams it begins to fall apart. But the mix is what makes it entertaining.

The only people that could contribute to neutralizing the threat were fireball man and deadshot. Activate all special forces units and deploy them against the target. Boomerang, lizardman and Harley wouldn't have anything to contribute.

This critic's blurb said it best: Even with the suspension of disbelief, nothing in the movie makes sense.

Very funny.

"They can shoot things, and hit them with bats. This guy is a crocodile."

ETA: Also, I remember laughing at the music during the final battle. "DON'T YOU REALIZE HOW INCREDIBLY EPIC THIS BATTLE IS?!"

That exactly how I felt. The choice of villain was the main downfall of the movie IMO. Instead of having Enchantress go and retrieve those nuclear plans, they should have had the Squad do it.

Her eyes were big, she was smiling, and dancing like Cleopatra saying shite like, "What are you going to do?! Haha!" It was probably the worst fighting sequence I've ever seen.

I really like Leto, but his joker might be one of the douchiest looking character I have ever seen. A frickin meth head.

And holy shite how many girls will be Harley Quinn for halloween?

Ledger set the bar so damn high for the Joker.

As for Harley Quinn and Halloween costumes... that's fine by me.

HQ has been a played out costume long before this movie.

Not that I mind it.

Just saw it. I liked it but see why critics crapped on it.

Will Smith and Margot Robbie killed it. Effing killed it. Leto was awful. I don't blame the other actors but you could have removed half the cast and the movie wouldn't have been worse.

I think DC has filled roles surprisingly well with Affleck, Cavill, Smith, and Robbie. It just seems they can't stop stepping on their dicks when it comes to cutting and the final product. It's not even direction to me. I don't hate Snyder and Ayers makes good movies. It's just like their screenwriting and editing can't properly translate to a good movie.

Margot was disappointing. I didn't think she did a good job at all.

In her defense it probably had more to do with the shitty writing than her acting.

But her accent changing about halfway through the movie was kind of dumb.

plot holes everywhere. there was no backstory on those weird aliens where did they come from?

I did think that Jared Leto was a good Joker almost as good as Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson but also totally different in a cool way. I wish there were more of him

I want another Batman v. Joker movie with him in it

I liked his take on the Joker but they used him all wrong. They basically reduced him to a guy in love trying to get his gf back.

Kind of like in Prince of Thieves where it seemed like they had to keep reminding Costner he was supposed to be English.
