I had my own funny conversations and stole beer from the back of the High's Dairy Store where my buddy worked. I still didn't relate to having a douchebag frined who did nothing but drop the f-bomb nonstop. And while some of the experiences were close to mine, it was just too long ago. I haven't been to high school for a long time.

Knocked Up/Suberbad divide.

Knocked up is by far the funnier flick. Not to say there weren't a couple of ha ha moments in Superbad but the two don't compare IMHO.

I didn't relate at all. I think it is by far the weakest Apatow/Rogan movie. It's my Knocked Up/Suberbad divide. My younger friends prefered Superbad, and my older friends (and me) liked Knocked Up.

i saw it when i was in high school and it was perfect for me at the time. I still had liked Knocked Up better, but Superbad was funny.

I Love You Man, Pineapple Express, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and the Hangover are all better than Superbad though

we've had some good comedies lately

I liked it a lot and thought it was very funny, however I don't think my parents would have liked it. I think it was geared more towards the late teen - mid twenties.

I really thought the only good thing about Superbad was McLovin and the cops.

This was my least favorite part. I found McLovin annoying.
See I thought this movie was funny as hell because I could relate to it. It did drag on and hasn't had very good lasting value as far as a comedy goes. But there are some really funny lines in it. "What'd you want me to do? Jump in front of the spit?"

It's shock comedy. Borat falls under the same category and it's just not funny. Your sense of humor has to be delightfully simplistic to think SuperBad is the best comedy ever (many posters proclaimed this when the movie came out). You people are like cheap drunks. Enjoy it while it lasts, eventually you'll stop "getting it" to.

+1 god that was spot on.

I'm not saying SuperBad is as bad as Borat. I think Borat is borderline unwatchable being that it's a poorly connected string of reality TV skits while SuperBad has an actual plot to follow. However, I think the primary humor device in both movies was shock for the sake of being shocking. That's lazy comedy and I expected better from Apatow/Rogen.
