You could be right but for some reason I recall waiting for him to ask for specifics and being disappointed when I didn't hear the question I was waiting for.
Maybe I was looking for the obvious question and he asked in a more subtle way and I missed it. I'll have to watch that scene again.

Right. He wasn't in any real position to be prodding for answers.

When he got back to terra nova, he didn't push captain avatar for answers either. I'll just assume he's going to investigate on his own.
Yup. He's gonna take that information and use it on his own to try to figure out what's really going on. I have no problems with that.
Also, it looked like Cpt. Avatar knew that she likely told him something...so I expect there to now be a disconnect/confrontation between he and Jim based on that.

Na. They will reveal nothing. It will take years to get simple answers.
No different than the first episode when Clone Jack Cop asked Avatar Guy why they were trying to kill him and he just said "everyone has their reasons."
Any rational person would ask a follow up question but the in the land of TV where lazy writers need to stretch things out over entire seasons or multiple seasons, we get no follow up question.

Ok...here we go... Today you get a real time, rolling commentary. TLDR, sorry, I got carried away trying to learn how to use the video capture.
We start off this week with a camera approach towards the Shitty Fence Of Non Protection which is once again covered in vines.
Perhaps they should be studying the massively fast growth cycles of the vines to send those genes back to the future so Archer Daniels Midland can save the world with fast growth plants.
Dear god, we have more people out and about at night when they can't see the 11 billion dinosaurs and giant bugs out to kill them. Can you imagine the prehistoric bugs that would be scurrying around at night?
Does the director really think all this dark herky jerky camera crap excites the viewers? Please, can we have one damn episode where the whole episode takes place during the daytime.
Oh, so instead of staying inside their big fortress with the shitty fence, lets go split up in the dark to see what the 6ers are up to probably heading into their trap.
Oh god, riding a motorcycle at night in the jungle??? Really? Who writes this crap?
It's bad enough that they can track down Newt in the middle of a jungle at night, but how in the crap can a motorcycle move 1 foot without crashing? The dinosaurs mostly come at night, mostly. Do you know what is harder than seeing the motorcycle in that picture? Driving it through a jungle AT NIGHT!
WTF? Did anyone notice the way the ceiling in the hospital was decorated?
Why are toilet paper rolls hanging from the ceiling. They can't build a proper fence but they have time to decorate like that? In a medical facility?
If Newt was a tiny baby when she was at Terra Nova, how would she even know her grandmother?
Good lord the dialog continues to be laughably turrible.
"This is the second time you have come to our gates and threatened the colony. There won't be a third. Next time, I'm going to war."
Who wants to bet there will be a 3rd - 14th time just this season?
"I never forget a face or name but somewhere along the line I forgot my legs." Please make it stop.
War paint? Really?
The stupidity of bringing all the 6ers out into the open in front of the Shitty Fence can only be topped by the stupidity of opening the gate and coming outside and standing right next to the people trying to kill you.
So they instantly find out that Newt broke into a house and then instantly find the exact spot she is trying to leave? Maybe if the Fence wasn't so freaking porous and she had to leave in a certain spot like THE GATE, but I'm not buying that whole string of events because she can leave anywhere in the compound.
Jack Clone Cop is a total idiot. He runs into quarantine situations and he believe Newt even though she showed about zero emotion over the alleged threats against her brother and she already lied and tricked them once. Ohhh, because she drew a crying face on a note that means she really wasn't lying. Dear god these people are stupid.
Courting? Is this 1821?
Oh god, more motorcycles in the dark and more traipsing about the jungle at night. It is pretty clear these people would never survive long enough to save humanity.
I don't see how anyone could think this episode was the best yet. It was par for the course. Full of total nonsense and terrible dialog.
So powerful people in 2140 want Avatar Guy gone. Er..... Couldn't they send a hit squad through the Star Gate?
How could Jack Clone Cop be on the wrong side of history? That is Earth II and has nothing to do with Earth I.
She thanks JCC for saving Avatar guy then one sentence later she says sooner or later they are going to take him down. Okay.....
I wonder how many people they killed before they learned to hit people in the head and knock them out instead of killing them.
Er.... at what point does Avatar Guy start court marshaling red shirts for letting people out of the compound with vehicles against orders?
I know too long didn't read. Tough, it was just that bad.

I was waiting for this.
That definitely made zero sense. She remembers the future, yet Captain Avatar said he remembers her being a foot long baby in the compound...doesn't make much sense to me. The only thing I can figure is that maybe her grandmother lived in TN and she was just too young to remember?? Who knows.
And this definitely was the best episode yet. That doesn't mean it was great, just better than the others.
I don't have a problem with a lot of the cheesy dialogue, actually.

I know I nitpick but come on. Can't any of the writers see the flaw that just a few sentences later Avatar guy is talking about Newt being a tiny newborn at Terra Nova.
Maybe it was the actor's fault. Maybe he wasn't supposed to use his hands to simulate the size of a newborn.
What say you about the silly Mexican standoff? And why didn't they shoot Avatar guy when he was standing out in the open? Especially considering they know that the TN morons use sonic weapons set to tickle.

I think each society needs each other. TN is the main thing that gets weapons, medicine, people, etc. 6ers are outsiders, but they apparently live at or near mines with that valuable mineral whatever that was mentioned in the first episode and never again (what they traded for medical supplies and whatnot).
As far as them standing face to face, I'm fine with that. That's how it happens a lot of times. If the 6ers kill him right then, they have the full brunt of the TN military on top of them immediately. Not a smart move to do that.

She can only be reunited with her family by killing Avatar guy yet she stands next to him and does nothing? Sorry not buying it or the stupidity of opening the gate and walking out in to the open.
Avatar guy had NO reason whatsoever to believe they wouldn't put a bullet in his skull.
Are you on the writing staff for the show?

Nah, I'm just WAY more laid back about it and don't let too much get under my skin. I loved Lost; it's one of my favorite shows ever. But you could nitpick Lost more than most other shows if you tried hard enough. I just don't care about that...I watch Terra Nova because of the concept and plot of the show. Sure, they could be executing it much better than they are, but I'll still stick around. And it's better than Falling Skies, which I'll still watch (barely

I think the kid was either making up all the stuff about her grandmother or had been told it by her parents/6'rs/etc. That's a plot point that's so minor when compared with the supernova of the "fence", motorcycling at night, being let go with hardly any answers and one of the most ridiculous standoffs in a dramatic series.
Yes, the fence is useful only as a giant ladder that surrounds the camp/fort/city, but still... when you have an enemy facing you at your wall and you outmatch them in firepower and manpower, WHO THE HELL LETS THEM WALK AWAY!?! Really? There's all this animosity and you let the enemy walk (and DRIVE) off?
And then The Cape is able to show up, get the kid, then is allowed to go back home? All they need is a shark...

He's not "The Cape".
After watching every episode, I've come to the conclusion this show is written for 10 y/o's. Heck, it may even be written by 10 y/o's. So I no longer find much point in calling out absurdities like riding a motorcycle into a dinosaur-infested jungle alone at night. It's what these characters do. Plus, I got to root for the jumping dino to (literally) bite his head off.

True, it could've just been part of her lie to infiltrate TN. That would be good enough for me.

They did have lights though. It's at least plausible, if not very smart.

If a tree falls over in the forest, does anyone hear it?
Didn't even realize they were taking the week off until I looked around for the episode this morning.
